Guitar help...

The top part where the string gets kept in place on my guitar has just snapped .

Anybody know if this can be fixed, looks like this.

You mean the nut?

On my guitar (a Telecaster) it's just a bit of plastic that can be slid out of its groove in the neck - would be piss to replace. Does your Rickenbacker have something more complex?

It seems sort of like that, but it doesnt seem as easy as just slipping out. The bit has snapped right off making the string not hold in place.

I'd imagine it could be fixed, but this is the 2nd guitar i've broken now and start to panic about it

Cheers Fish

Take it to a music shop (I don't know what ones are still open in Edinburgh). They'll get you sorted no problem, even if it's not instantly.

Broken nut on a Rickenbacker?

Fatal I'm afraid and will have sent the rot through the rest of the guitar.

I'll give you £20 for it's sad rotted corpse out of sympathy.

It's not a proper Rickenbacker, screw paying about £2000 for it.

Still sounds awesome though, those guitars are fantastic.
