London Hibs November 2002 Newsletter

We had a small, but our favourite number (7) of members at our November meeting. Highlights of the meeting were:

Like last season the football team has got off to a slow start but David remains upbeat about their prospects. Follow their fortunes through our Website & the team's own site.

Our Player of the Year for last season was Ian Murray. Great to see a Hibs fan win the trophy. Arrangements for the presentation will be announced soon.

Burns Night plans for Sat 18th January are well in hand. We will return to last year's successful venue. It will be held in The Newmarket Inn, York Way, London, at the junction of York Way and Agar Grove between Camden and Kings Cross. And tickets will cost 15. As this is our 10th anniversary Burns Night we're planning on a special celebration with very special guests.

Please make every effort to attend. Tickets will be available shortly but meanwhile you can book through Andrew Murray.

We had a discussion re the crazy fixtures this season, e.g. Hibs going 3 months without a Saturday home game, 3 consecutive home & 3 away games & Hearts hijacking the holiday fixture for the 4th consecutive year. The Chairman was requested to write to the Club. (This letter has been sent & will shortly be available to members). The members also unanimously congratulated Bobby Williamson on actually standing up to the Old Firm re the non penalty award at Ibrox

Our membership is down on prior years with some long standing members not yet having paid up. The Treasurer (Andrew) will issue one more reminder but end of year is deadline to renew. Still the best value 10 in town - join up now.

Next meeting is our Xmas meeting on 10 December. Please make every effort to attend & give the year a great send off. If enough turn up we may twist some money for a Christmas drink out of the Treasurer.
