  1. Irish "Car Bomb"

I was speaking to a friend in the USA earlier who was talking about their preparations for the forthcoming St Patrick's day celebrations. I had to do a double take as she explained that she was getting ingredients to make "Irish Car Bomb" cupcakes. Having looked into it a little bit, it's...

  2. We're all in this together

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15487866 With the imminent scrapping of the 50% top tax rate as well, things are certainly looking up for the filthy rich. Meanwhile, average private sector pay is up just 2.6%, public sector pay at...uh...0% and inflation is at 5.2%.

  5. US Soldier Kills 16 Aghan Civilians

Including 9 children. Apparently he was drunk and broke into their homes a mile from his base. Absolute idiot. I can see the US making an example of him as they need to send a message out. I reckon he could get the lethal injection. Taliban has promised revenge attacks.

The public will be asked to decide the name of the new Forth bridge. Any suggestions? I haven't put much thought to it yet, but I reckon there should be 2 names. One for coming towards Edinburgh and one for heading to Fife. ...

OK, I was a bit drunk at the time, but. Can anyone help me find out how much it cost to make a call from a BT phone box in 1976, please? I definitely remember using 2 pence pieces to make calls at some time, but I'm not sure if the cost had risen by 1976. Thanks.

Anyone watching this documentary tonight? I've always been fairly sure that Megrahi's conviction was unsafe. I don't believe he had anything to do with the bombing. We'll never really know because he dropped his appeal, apparently as part of a deal. I think the guy has been fitted up.

  20. 16 and 17 year olds to determine the constitutional future of Scotland?

The Independence question is cleverly worded. We expected that so I have no complaints. But, allowing 16 and 17 year olds a vote? That's about as cynical as it gets. I joined the SNP when I was at my most romantic, when the chip(s) on my shoulder were developing rapidly. I had as...
