Nicola now preparing legal framework for indyref 2...........
After the stupidity of Brexit, the next fear is that Boris could be exchanging views with Trump. His stupid, though admittedly staggeringly beautiful wife, has made a speech which was almost verbatim with a speech made by Obama's wife. They are admitting that it was a gross misjudgement and could...
Breaking News on TV just now that's there been a (possible) terrorist attack in Munich. In the Olympia Einkauf Zentrum (Olympia Shopping Centre). At least ten dead, possibly fifteen. It's near the Olympic Stadium where Bayern Munich used to play.
There's been police cars flying past my house...
Is it just me or, is the Scottish Labour Supporters stuck between a rock and a hard place if Jeremy Corbyn wins the leadership race. The reason I state this is because, if he wins then surely that would subject Scotland to guaranteed Tory Westminster Governments although on the other hand its his...
May has told the EU it won't be triggered this year.
Thankfully,this one wasn't fatal.
First things first .... I do not for a second doubt the ability of females to be good combat troops and there is no question of a lack of courage from females in war time, the stories of Odette Hallowes and Violette Szabo for example are ( though extraordinary ) both testament to that.
Breaking news tonight of a military coup in Turkey.
I know it's a football forum..... Sometimes reality interferes with our wee fit ba world. I hope everyone there is ok.
Here's an absolutely astonishing and brilliantly argued piece of polemic and analysis from a Marxist academic on why Corbyn's re-election would be a disaster for the Labour Party, the Left and the dispossessed!
This is one of the most impressive articles that I've read in some time and I agree...
A lorry has struck a crowd during Bastille Day celebrations in the southern French city of Nice, with reports of many dead.
The incident took place on the famous Promenade des Anglais during a firework display, media reports say.
One image on...
All over twitter at the moment, bridges shut in Istanbul military jets flying low over Ankara.
Principled stand, to be fair!
What is the world coming to? Someone said on another thread that the sooner a weapon is made that wipes us all out the better. Sorry to be so morbid, but I don't see a future for humanity when attacks like the one in France today are in the forefront of modererate people's minds. I agree with...
So we are down to 3 and close to the point where 150 thousand (very) odd crusty Tories get to choose not only our prime minister but also our future relationship with the EU. Democracy's great eh?
Anyway, I have to say (for as far as I'm aware the first time) that I agree with Malcolm Rifkind:...
There is speculation that if Leadsom ndoe pull out of the race, the Tory Party board me invite Gove to re-enter.
Surely he couldn't win now. Could he?
Edit: she has withdrawn!
Good to see lessons are being learnt from the Blair fiasco.
Anyone else have these problems? My old man is from the old brigade who thinks pull yourself together is the answer. Never used to be like this and time in the army hasn't helped. However, I'm not afraid to admit things and feel no stigma in being affected by this.
Just wondering if other...
This was posted on my FB wall.
The astute among you will have noticed that I declined to become involved in most of the hand wringing and wailing yesterday. I'm not going to start today, but I did realise yesterday that there is a need to clear the air.
I don't have many friends who voted...
my name is Luca and I'm a hibs fan from Switzerland. I became a fan in 2011when I was doing a language stay for 4 weeks. Since then I visited Edinburgh another 3 times. I really love this city.
At the moment I'm thinking about visiting Edinburgh again this autumn. On the...
Pretty damning. Let's be having you BLiar !
Anybody listening to his speech in Brussels right now? Comedy gold. :faf:
Trying to claim that no deal would be better for the UK than for the EU. :faf:
What as happened In Sweden? Figures state that 1 In 4 women will be raped in Sweden. What happened to the most progressive society on earth?
23.5 & 24 years respectively.
Verdict changed to murder on appeal and he'll soon be back in court to hear a new sentence passed.
Until I got this email from Christine Lagarde today. :greengrin

Just wondering what people think about this new protest camp in Holyrood Park
The message from Leave that it would be oh so simple to get a trade agreement after brexit, because Europe wants our stuff, has unravelled already.
Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande and Matteo Renzi are holding a Press Conference now and have confirmed that there will be no informal negotiations...
I can't grasp why the media think Boris will persuade people to vote out. What a self serving twat he is.
The biggest risk is people ( and espcially the young who are more keen on staying in) not turning out.
Only 52. Very sad.
Given the unexpected result of the Brexit vote, will, or can the European leaders get their act together and do something positive that will truly put forward what the union should be all about, or will the unelected presidents just have another meeting. This changes the political landscape of...
Why does this fool keep getting media time?
I get the feeling that once everything is said and done and the UK doesn't get anywhere near the deal they want. He'll be the one leading the remain campaign in Scotland. That's about the only positive thing about his existence.
My father was Polish. He came to the UK during the 2nd world war and fought with the British Army against the nazis. I'm not giving them a capital letter.
He met my mum, (I have a feeling that she liked the soldiers), and they were married.
3 girls were born and a good time later, 2 boys...
There isn't a thread yet that focuses specifically on the economy. It may be a good idea to have one so we can keep track of the volatility of the financial market.
GBP to USD has currently slumped from $1.50 to the pound to $1.31. This is even lower than the initial slump of $1.34 to the pound...
How will history remember him. He gambled on allowing a Scottish referendum and appeared to win, he won an overall majority against all the odds in the general election and he almost pulled off the hat trick last night. He will imo be looked upon as being the pivotal figure in the break up of the...
Yes, I know it's usually a painstakingly boring channel to watch. But some good speeches have been made so far in the Scottish Parliament as well as some absolutely awful one's (generally coming from Conservatives).
Their desperate attempt to prevent the Scottish Government from having it's own...
Considering the devolved parliament came about from increasing pressure from the European Union on a Labour Government. Would a Conservative Government under the likes of Johnson and Gove within an independent UK hesitate to dissolve the Scottish Parliament?
I was not in favour of Scottish independence but the EU ref changes my view. Scotland will be isolated in the Union and has to leave for its own good.
Does the EU vote radically change the dynamic on the indie question? For me,it does.
