We at London Hibs would disagree on London's best pub, we'd fall out over its finest building, we might never speak again if we sniggered about is greatest borough. There is no doubt we'd argue about cinemas, theatres, operas and ballet, but on one aspect of the glittering capital canon that we'd...
Was speaking to Pierre today about the forthcoming season and he commented “I see that you lost to ze Swedes. I will put some on ze menu”.
Speaking of Swedes, did you know that the European Union is stipulating that Cornish pasties can’t be called pasties unless they’re made with swede, and not...
Just found out will be over in London from Canada over the Cup Final weekend. Realise no chance of tickets at this stage, but are London Hibs meeting in Quinn's, or elsewhere to watch the game? Surely everyone is not going to be at Hampden?? Would love to take in the game with some fellow Hibees...
Im a season ticket holder and im in the armed forces and currently based at Northwood in North London. Im going to be stationed here for the next two years and would very much like to come along to any events or days out that you guys may have planned.
I cannot be down here for this long...
Must've been an interesting day!
Afternoon all, I work in London four days a week but first time I've had to find a boozer to watch a Hibs game down here. I live and work in and around the centre and would really appreciate some suggestions on places to go to watch it tonight. Cheers
Does anyone know how many tickets it was per membership for the semi? Or how many it was on General sale per transaction?
Did anyone get the Megabus coaches up?
Great idea for the final if anyones going!
Is it safe to assume Pierre will be preparing a fish dish for Friday?
Me and a mate are travelling up by hire car for the Motherwell match on Friday night. We have a couple of spare seats if anyone fancies a bit of a road trip. We will be leaving Central London at roughly 11am on the Friday and returning after the match so should get back in the early hours of...
Looking forward to my first trip to Quinns tomorrow, will the pub be showing all the games after too?
There are many cosmopolitan pubs and strange eateries on Kentish Town Road, Camden, NW1/NW5. It’s always been a road that collects oddities. In the 1940s there was a Polish community there and they called it the Warsaw Corridor; in the 1960s the hippy push swaggered in and firmly stayed-put and it...
For the uninitiated looking in, London goes right to left; its latitudes are more prosperous than its longitudes. The city flows east-west; north-south is downhill, shabbier, grubbier. Maybe it’s because a river runs through it. Perhaps it’s some Camden hippy bile, but the city ebbs and flows with...
Even on the rare occasions when one has nothing else in the fridge, there is always an onion, and being French, Pierre certainly knows his onions!
Pierre has emphasised to me many times that onions are like a culinary Heathrow Airport – they can take you to thousands of edible destinations....
I am wondering If you would be interested in entering a team in the following Tournament:
Is a 7 a side tournament in Kirkcaldy Saturday 4th May 2013.
The occasion is that Torino FC supporters Club in Scotland organize the event in memory of Grande Torino the 1940’s...
In 2010 Pierre was the winner of the Craft Guild National Chef of the Year, having been a finalist in 2008. Earlier in his career, he also won the Roux Scholarship. Pierre has one of the best CVs in the country, having worked with some of the world's top Michelin-starred chefs including Raymond...
In its busy Camden/Kentish Town location, Quinn’s is a surprisingly bourgeois French restaurant whose classic style will come as no surprise to those who’ve followed Hibs and head chef, Pierre since we relocated there; quality is good, standards are high.
Pierre is a man who knows a bit...
The London Hibs Supporters Club Burns Night is now all fixed for Saturday 26th January ( details below).
HIBS v Aberdeen also on the box the next day at Quinns (Kentish Town Rd in Camden on Sunday 27th/KO 12.45). Pierre will be serving a seasonal assortment of canapés, both pre and after match....
This Sunday will be a bit special as Quinn’s will also play host to the many ex-players who have made the journey to London as our Burns Night guests; so for those who can’t make the Burns Night, feel free to pop along for what's guaranteed to be another large gathering.
Head Chef Pierre's...
I'd just like to pass on a huge thanks to the folks who turned up tonight at Quinn's. By my reckoning, we had over 175 bodies in attendance with several regulars missing through illness (and visiting the match in person).
I'd like to apologise on behalf of Pierre and his team to the folks that...
Sat down with Pierre yesterday and we talked through the menu for the New Year derby at Tynie. The food gods are looking down on us for this match as the game is a 7.45pm kick-off, giving Pierre and his team plenty of time to prepare something a wee bit special for what's sure to be a large...
It's a busy time of year for Vinnie and his team at Quinn's, with Sunday probably being their busiest day of the year in the bar, restaurant and orangery, however we've been allocated the corner lounge area for the match, so turn up early if you want a seat.
Pierre is going to serve us a kind...
Just checking whether Quinn's is showing the game this sunday
HIBS game v Motherwell on Friday 26th October is on the TV at Quinns in Camden.
Kick Off is 7.45 pm .
I got a call from a furious, Pierre. Seemingly, someone had the audacity to send back his roast quail with caramelised walnuts that he served after the Motherwell match, stating that it was 'boney'. Pierre isn't one for taking criticism well and it was moi that took his wrath.
Anyway, we're on...
A few planned closures
Hoping for a good wee crowd in on 29th September at 1200 for the Aberdeen game at Quinns :flag::hibees:pfgwa
Awaiting details of opening times and menu etc........
Hi guys, in London for the weekend and wondering if the SC will be at Quinns on Sunday for the first match of the season?
All i can say is what a city!!!...
Went to the Hibs stadium for a look round with my missus and was VERY impressed!
Bought the new white and grey Hibs training top which can i say is very smart!
Got a great view of the City and in particular Easter Road from one of the tallest...
Hi, let me introduce myself.
Im Nick, Currently living in London originally from Essex and a Man City Fan.
I help run the Man City London Branch, so why am i posting on a Hibs fansite i hear you say.
Well although im a season ticket holder at the Etihad i have a soft spot for Hibs,
I was stood at the bar watching the game, everyone around me was getting so so annoyed with the bar staff because they were slow amongst other things.
I thought I got served reasonably quick for a busy time, no hassle for me.
Anyone else get a bit moany towards the staff?
For those unfortunates who haven't managed to secure a brief for the Cup Final, Vinny and the team at Quinn's are going to give us priority on the day, regardless of the other matches taking place. The doors will be open from 12 noon and we fully expect to pack-out the establishment.
Coming down to London for the w-end with my old man, will be in Quinns for the Hibs game, happy days!
I believe there's an OF game on @ 1245 too.
This monday, anyone going there?
Might get along because I'm off work, should it be busy?
The thread on the Main Forum has proven to be as popular as a fart in a convent, so will try here :greengrin
Basically, will anyone be around and up for a Hibby related pint or 4 (not tooooo many as my train leaves...
Anyone got any cheap ideas?
cheapest ive found is london - glasgow on the coaches, only thing is thats about 8 hours on the coach.
any ideas welcome!
You can't get a ticket?
As it stands, I'm not going, coach trip to Glasgow and back by myself, no thanks. Was expecting it to be 2 per membership. If it reaches general sale, we'll travel.
So, anyone else's plan changed?
Or was you already going Quinns?
Must have been good to see a Hibs win in there for once!
Going by previous threads in the forum I assume the game will be on tomorrow? Just double checking though!
Are U18's allowed in?
If they're having soft drinks obviously and do you have to pay to get in?
How is everyone getting up to Edinburgh/Glasgow?
Train is only £37 from Kings Cross (with a railcard). Thinking of taking it after work on the Friday.
I saw McHibby who is based in Cambridge is travelling up through the night
