Apologies for the spam, I wasn't sure if this was suitable for "other sports" or the dug out, so I've gone with both. I'm one of the volunteer ride leader's with the Brewdog Chain Gang cycling club and we're starting up an Edinburgh chapter with rides leaving from Lothian road, just thought I'd...
Deliberately or not, which bands do you wish you'd known earlier. I ask this because the Stone Roses completely passed me by, until tonight. I've just listened to their first album and I don't understand why I don't own it. The Who, Talking Heads, Britpop, funk, all rolled into one. ...
I passed my driving test yesterday :cb However my address on the provisional has since changed and I have to send it away myself with my pass certificate. Probably a daft question, but am I able to drive in the meantime even though I won't have my license or pass certificate since I have to send...
Anyone else doing it tomorrow? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
I thought it was pretty good for their first go. They maybe tried a bit too hard, but the chemistry that made it work before could easily develop as it goes on. I thought Flintoff took to it like a duck to water.
Is there any connection between these two? They're the same age and grew up in the same neck of the woods, I think? I've just been watching a clip of Capaldi telling a tale on the radio and was struck by how his mannerisms put me in mind of Liam chatting on the Time For Heroes DVD. Are they pals?
Moved house recently, I'm in Ayrshire, can't get a kitchen wrapper for love nor money, they don't get back to me, haven't turned up for the quotes, too busy, blah blah blah! Seriously considering going on a wrapping course to get set up with a wee side earner, anyone any experience of doing it?...
Has anyone done this and added fake grass on top? I’ve just jumped the wall and got 6 pallets from builders i also got some fake grass from lidl (where else!). Just gonna stack 2 up 3 along and cover the top. Was just wondering if anyone had done similar and what would you put between the grass...
We had a cat who used to follow us along the street. He was called Sid. Black and white. Lovely animal actually.
Ive been caught in the trap over the past few years of always looking for the next thing & kinda neglecting the music Ive loved for years. So if this thread has already been done fel free to delete but whats currently getting airplay from you? This week for me is Ride - Nowhere (probably my...
Watched the 1st half of Inception and my head is suitably scrambled so far! 😜
Im going to be spending a lot of time doing work on a house and garden this winter and I'm after recommendations of good podcasts. Any subject. Things I've been listening to recently include Totally Football Show on Spotify. James Richardson is my favourite pundit, he's just left the guardian...
There’s been loads over the years but what’s your favourite. I love this one https://youtu.be/2USXEJuvXT4
Have seen big billboards all over town for the upcoming Elections on May 23rd I've never voted in the European Elections before, and haven't had anything through the post or seen any materials around the city. Does anyone have any links as to where I can find out info around the candidates,...
Can anyone recommend one. The current one never gets back to us without numerous calls and emails. It's chronic.
I heard “The Lebanon” by The Human League today for the first time in ages. In fact, I can’t have heard it since I was wee, otherwise i’d have been aware before now just how terrible the lyrics are. It’s like a 14 year old’s poem. Cracking tune - simple, but great bass line and thrilling guitar...
The Levellers 15 Years popped up on my Spotify and it got me thinking of the best opening lines in songs. I’m a big fan of this one and “I never was a violent man said the man at the bar with his head in his hands.” It got me thinking of other great openings in songs. I love Aftershow from The...
After 30 years of working in an office environment I'll soon be starting a job working from home. Any tips on how not to go mad (all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy) I've thought about maybe renting a hot desk somewhere if I don't like it, anyone have experience of this? Edit :...
Found this list of available artists from a booking agent in 1969 of what looks very affordable in 2019, but what would have been a decent wedge back in the late 60’s. Who are you booking?
Wtf are they all about? I just don't get why they think they'll encourage folk to open an account.
Ok, I'm getting slightly irked about folk saying all the restaurants in the thread are great 😎 so how about a thread that's all about Shan ones...in folks opinion of course! Chop House in market Street is horrendously overrated, tiny lunch portions and poor service.
Today I tried to do one of these old fashioned things of paying in cash and buying a stamp to post a letter. Had letter in hand but didn’t have a stamp. Thinking I don’t want to buy a single stamp and pay by a debit card I’ll get some cash from the ATM. First machine I go to, not got any cash,...
Hopefully the season for long sessions in the garden accompanied by barbecue food is just around the corner. Just invested in a bigger oil drum type and looking for some tips and ideas to cook on it. Been doing the same, sausages, burgers, kebabs and steak for years. What does everyone else do?

Looking at a couple of new build houses down here in Ayrshire, both built by Stewart Milne, anyone had any experience with them?
Imagine in 1968 buying The White Album and sticking it on the turntable. Thirty songs (no singles), double album with gatefold sleeve, four colour photographs including this songs like this, after all they had done in such a short time. What an output....
Anybody else had it? Quite hot but, manageable! 😡 Standard is questionable but, you get what you pay for.
I do enjoy these hopefully can get a few I haven't heard: Bob Holness played the Sax part in Baker Street.
Looking for some inspiration, looking for some holiday recommendations for a family of 3, my daughter is nearly 4. We want to try something different in the states other than Orlando, any recommendations of places to go with the wee one?
Five of us heading to Belfast 12th-14th April, any recommendations of where to head pub and dare I say club wise (all 30+ but wanting a good sesh and laugh)? Any pubs that might dodgy stream EPL Saturday 3pm?
I'm looking for a couple of external security lights for the back garden. ideally not bank breaking and I don't need to wire in, so solar? any advice and pro and cons? additionally does anyone have any idea about decent cctv that won't break the bank? are they recording door bell style any...
Is there any HIBS supporters liking Drum and Bass here?
Heading to Berlin this weekend and taking in the Hertha V Dortmund game and could do with some advice on vegan eating establishments as half of our party of 6 are vegan. Have been to Berlin several times in the past so generally know my way around, but not had to accommodate vegans before so any...
What a brilliant drama! I've just finished series one and I'm blown away with how good it was. Woody Harleson and Matthew McConaughey are outstanding and the story is compelling right to the end. This is up there with The Sopranos.
Anyone have any info on the best Scottish islands to visit? What’s the most expensive/cheapest.. easiest/hardest to get too
Is this just now a vehicle to build up your posts? The same few people waiting to pounce. Ive had a fair few goes but these threads must come to a natural end. Seriously, have a word with yourselves.😃
Anyone on here ever had this? When I put my head forward or back I get a shooting pain down my arm and sometimes when I turn head. It is dependant on where my arm is (left) but no such issue with other arm. Is this sounding like slipped disc?
Hi Can anyone help me with a query? Do to us living close to traffic we wanted some new windows fitted to help reduce the noise. So we got quoted for the below : 'Clear low emission and heat retaining Pilkington K laminated/toughened double glazed units 10mm low E safety glass with warm...
Saddened to read that Mark Hollis, lead singer and guitarist in Talk Talk has died at a still-relatively young age of 64. Talk Talk were a great band who really evolved over the few years they were together.
Anyone know of any pub quiz nights tomorrow night preferably in the centre of town?
