Very dark and atmospheric and tremendously well shot.

Mads Mikkelsen is outstanding as Dr Lecter, an award of some sort must surely be in the offing for him.

I've long been a huge fan of the Halo universe. Not just the games but the visual effects, the stories, the soundtracks - everything about the concept, I've long been a fan of.

As part of the new XBox One reveal, it was announced that 343 and Steven Spielberg are going to collaborate to create a new live-action TV series of Halo :thumbsup:

There are so many excellent stories, the opportunity to create really visually stunning landscapes and the potentially for a really exceptional expansion of what has to be one of the mot successful game franchises of all time.

What the **** happened to this band?!

I used to absolutely love Muse and have been a fan since Showbiz. I loved OOS, Absolution and Black Holes & Revelations - they were brilliant albums and once upon a yesteryear, I would have hailed Matt Bellamy as one of the most talented musicians on the planet.

However, today I listened to their latest album (which I think I had listened to in passing before but not in any great detail) and what a spectacular fall from grace.

Supported on their upcoming stadium tour by Bastille and the utterly talentless Dizzee ****ing Rascall. Says it all really...

TV help

Anyone know anything about TV's? I recently moved house and can't get any of the BBC channels on my TV. It's a flat screen digital TV with built in freeview so it's not just BBC 1 and 2 but all of them. Tried tuning it a few times now and not getting anywhere with it.

Looking for a bit advice so here goes, apparently the minimum amount of calories I need to eat for my age/height is 2000 a day. Been trying to lose wait so have struck to a strict 1800 per day. Here's the kicker though, been going to the gym everyday for the past two weeks. I have been burning 600 calories a day and today I done 1000 as it was the two weeks and was going to weigh myself afterwards. So technically I'm only on 1200 calories a day. So I weighed myself and the p-take is that I've put on 4lb :confused:. So the question is, how the duck have I put weight on? Cut out the fizzy drinks, crisps and everything :brickwall.

I'm heading to Berlin and Copenhagen in a couple of weeks and don't really fancy getting wads of cash exchanged to last me the trip. So, knowing that us Hibees are a well travelled bunch, I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good banks to go with that don't charge a fee per transaction abroad and also gives a fair exchange rate. From a quick look at moneysavingexpert it seems like credit cards are the best option but I'd really rather not. A current account with benefits abroad would be perfect but I wouldn't rule out some kind of prepaid card either.

Thought this week's episode would be hard-pressed to top last week's - the ending with Dany and the Unsullied was amazing - but really enjoyed it. Nice to get a bit more insight into Stannis through his daughter and also Davos back in the picture :not worth Really enjoyed the Hound/Beric fight too, and Jaime's confession to Brienne was done so well! Still hoping that at some point they might to a flashback to Robert's Rebellion - that would make for some great TV!

The girlfriend and I are about to put an offer in for a house in South Gyle, and one of the local amenities would be David Lloyd. We're currently Edinburgh Leisure members, paying �40-45 each per month, but I was wondering if anyone knew how much a membership at David Lloyd at the Gyle was? I know they do couples memberships as well. Problem is, David Lloyd seem to be intent on hiding this useful information which makes me wonder if they just charge whatever they like at the time. I can't think of any other reason for not advertising these fees.

So, anyone here a member there and does anyone have a couples membership there? I know it's going to be expensive, but I'm aware of the superior facilities and if I will be a 5minutes walk from it then it could be very handy.

Breaking Benjamin

I don't know if anyone else on here will have a clue who they are but my favourite band have reunited after a very lengthy legal battle!

Benjamin Burnley (lead singer) fired 2 band mates and took legal action against them after they released a remixed version of "Blow Me Away" (Halo 2 soundtrack) featuring guest vocals from Velora whilst Benjamin was on leave due to prolonged illness.

Today marked the end of legal proceedings and the announcement that Breaking Benjamin are to return. The past 6 months has featured some unbelievable highs for me and this is right up there!

Deftones bassist Chi Cheng has passed away this morning having been involved in a major car accident back in 2008.

During the accident, his open top car rolled and he wasn't wearing a seat-belt, ejecting him from the car and inflicting serious injuries on him. He was in a coma until a couple of years ago but had recently gone from that to a semi-awake state. He'd also started to move his legs again but he clearly had serious neurological damage.

A sad loss as he's been with the Deftones since the beginning and was a very talented musician indeed!

Can anyone recommend any books on the origins of different religions and how its been altered over the years.
Particularly interested in the origins of the papacy and also their relationship and subsequent torture and murder of the Knights Templar.
Also would like some on the origins of Secret Masonary pre 1717.

Its know its difficult but i would prefer these to be as unbiased as possible (if there is such a thing)

Just read John J Robinsons Lost Secrets of Masonary for the 3rd time. Very informative in what i am assuming is a very unbiased view.

Looking for a wee bit advice, i signed up to a gym in oct 2011 for a 3 yr deal. When i signed up they told me that if i moved from the area i could cancel my membership. I recently moved from the area and phoned to cancel my membership. When i phoned up they said i had to have moved 15 miles or more to cancel without paying. I have only moved 13.7 miles. They are now looking for me to pay the next year and a half if i want to cancel even though nothing was mentioned at the time about distances. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

It says on the outside of a bag of cement that you need to keep it undercover and unopened and only then you can use it for up to 6 weeks.

I have left it in the rain:rolleyes: and there's a hole in the bag, it's been sitting outside for two weeks. Can I still use it for simple mortar work or will it be a bit dodgy?

I've long been a fan of Classical music but lately I've grown addicted to listening to contemporary scores from TV shows and Films and it's quite amazing how overlooked some of these can be.

Without some of the music, many of the more popular shows/films just wouldn't be anywhere near as good as they are.

Obviously the likes of Hans Zimmer and John Williams need absolutely no introduction but I've lately become hooked on the work of Michael Giacchino. He was responsible for the absolutely beautiful Lost soundtrack and I was quite fortunate to see him conduct "Lost" backed by the amazing San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sitting in college this morning, daydreaming of when the Yams finally go breests upwards, I happened to look down at the shoes that the Indian guy in front of me was wearing and to my amusement, I noticed that they were Adidas golf shoes. Soft spikes, I grant you, but definitely golf shoes nonetheless. I mused on this a while longer and chuckled to myself, but for the life of me I could not work out why he might have chosen to wear golf shoes to college.

A bet? Unlikely. To gain better grip on the pavements walking in? No, it is a lovely mild day here. More comfortable? Possibly, but then again why the need to use golf shoes, shoes designed specifically for wearing on the golf course, instead of trainers, which are generally comfortable too?

Guy: "These are not golf shoes."

Guy: "No they are not. In India they are called casual shoes."

Now, I have been to India, albeit a few years ago and for only a short time, but I do not recall anyone walking the streets in a pair of golf shoes. No shoes at all, yes. But golf shoes? No.

Perhaps someone who has been to India in the last six years can confirm that I am mistaken. Or is it the latest trend of a burgeoning middle class?

In any case, what is the most random, the funniest or the most puzzling piece of clothing or footwear that you have come across?

Yams Fashion disasters

We've seen the images of Fatty Foulkes and Uncle Fester, but what's the story with the gear the yams wear?

No Hibs game today, so was out and about and spotted loads of horrible looking yams.

But my favourite was when I took my laddie to his P2 fitba training this morning, and a yam Dad was there sporting a pair of beige combats, black shoes, a horrible knitted jumper with his yam top over it.

I'm no fashion guru, but they are total tramps :lolyam:

I just took delivery of the Cream DVD of their Albert Hall reunion concerts in 2005. I've been accessing it on YouTube for so long that I thought I'd be as well having a hard copy!

At the time folk thought it was going to be yet another gettogether of dinosaurs waving farewell to their obsessive fans.

What turned out was music that surpassed even the 1960s efforts of the band. They had become even better musicians than they were way back when.

Jack Bruce is the man. He's from Glasgow and yet we never hear a thing about him in our media. He's probably happy about that in fact but he should get a knighthood or something.

Anyone else watch this prog? This past few weeks they have been trying to find the best champion from the last 30 years and it's the grand final this week. I used to watch now and again when "twice nightly Whiteley" was on along with Carol Vorderman but stopped watching. Back watching it again and the standard is amazing. They come out with words I've never heard off and when it's referenced in dictionary corner it will mean "someone who grows cactus whilst enjoying samba music" or something even weirder. Some clever kids on this week.

Think the real reason for watching has to be Rachel Riley. What a stoater. At 2:40 each weekday she gives many males an 8 letter word " x t i o n e r e c"

Heard at the weekend from what I believe to be a good source (my brother, who is good mates with the Hibs physio before anyone asks) that a "majority of players" are unhappy at the current coaching situation... Liam O'Brien has essentially been acting as manager for several weeks after the players lost the plot with fenlon's training methods around christmas. There's been a lot of things they're unhappy with since he came in - too much fitness work and not enough ball work (one day a week?) was one of the complaints, as well as a bizarre punishment for any errors in training of having to do a "naked chicken dance round the changing room" at the end of each session :S and the introduction of a "retard bib" for the player deemed worst in training in the morning, which then had to be worn by the player in the next session. This has been a major factor in Galbraith's mysterious disappearance as well as Callum Booth's.

Not one to spread rumours as my previous posts will show but thought this was worth a discussion, would certAinly explain our recent poor form compared to the start of the season.

Anyone heard similar?

Hope this is in the right section! I was just wondering is there anywhere that still stocks brand new 12/13 shirts? I know it's a bit late for one and there likely wont be any new stock, but I'm looking for one before the new one comes out. I had one and it got damaged, so looking another. I've tried around everywhere, eBay, amazon, and of course the Hibs store, but sadly there's only kids sizes or huge adult sizes left. Was thinking maybe is there any shops around Edinburgh that might still have them I could contact them and get one posted as I'm not in Scotland at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to move back to Edinburgh after a long long absence and need to find myself a job in a kitchen. I've been a chef for 5 years working at a highlevel , well skilled in all areas, but am getting a bit frustrated with the horrendous pay offered in most fine dining kitchens.

I'm just looking for anyone on here who is/has been a chef in edinburgh long enough to know "those" certain kitchens where the hard working chef gets a fair deal.

For example, i know a couple kitchens in Glasgow (where i am now) where the chefs get a very good hourly rate and a fair whack of tips and end up getting paid very handsomely for their 80 hour week as opposed to the "don't even make mimimum wage on this salary" of most places.

So come on my culinary comrades if any of you know of such a fabled place in Edinburgh i'd really appreciate a nod in the right direction.

There are pictures all over the internet of hundreds of people queuing outside a new doughnut shop at hermiston gait. Its one of these American drive through things I think and there is really bad traffic at the roundabout due to all the cars full of people wanting doughnuts.

Does anyone know if the handheld police guns take your registraion number or do they only calculate your speed so that the officer can pull you over ? Had a search on google and most people seem to say that they dont take photographic evidence and it is up to the officer to pull you at the time, although i doubt this to be the case!

Before the yams game on Saturday the car lifting squad who normally take cars to the pound dumped what looks like a 3 series across the road from me.

Some chat about it being parked in the way for the football [sic]. Can only assume the council didn't get their parking regulations out in time and couldn't make money from it.
