I know that Lloyd Saltman (former open silver medallist) will be playing as a pro with Iain Botham the amateur. According to Scotland on Sunday.

Think Justin Rose is a good bet this weekend. Played well recently and knows the course well.

I'm backing either Casey or Harrington again - both play this tournament so well, and Harrington will be well rested and ready for it.

Went last year (the same day as the Scotland v France game) and had a great day and night. Met Hugh Grant and managed to flirt a bit with him ! Would def recommend it to anyone that's not going to Ibrox

If anyone goes, please please give Michael Vaughn stick on behalf of Australia. The man is a disgrace to sport, a whining cheat of the highest order, a bad loser, a worse winner and all round rotten egg.

Please take the chance to remind him to read his rule book, the rules are not optional for pommy filth, and importantly ask him what its like to lose 5-0.

Well done Paul Lawrie for shooting a 64 today and storming back into contention. If he hadn't made a mess closing yesterday he'd have been even closer.

Never thought he got the credit he deserved for his Open and Dunhill successes a few years back. People tend to remember Van de Velde throwing it away and forget that he beat a former Open champ in the play-off too. Funny how nobody mentions the mess that Garcia and Harrington each made on the 72nd this year on a much fairer version of the course.

Was an absolutely fantastic weekend. Went to Kingsbarns on Saturday and it was absolutely brilliant! Spoke to Ray Romano for 15 minutes (which was absolutely brilliant - he's a proper gentleman!), Spoke to Padraig Harrington for a while too, got some cracking photos of a lot of folks and seen some brilliant golf (by both amatuers and professionals alike! Some of the shots Keating and Romano hit at Kingsbarns would have been applauded by the professionals who were there).

Today was good as well! Some all round great performers! Was overly impressed by young Rory McIlroy - absolutely brilliant to see him get his European Tour card after only 2 professional tournament finishes. Ernie Els continued his choking routine at St Andrews - for some reason, the boy just cannot play that course!!! Was delighted to see Nick Dougherty win at long last - he's gotten into winning positions numerous times and thrown it away in recent months, so it was refreshing to see him hold on for a change!

Was also very pleased to see Justin Rose finish just behind him - he has one of the most beautiful swings on the professional circuit and i'm always impressed by his controlled tempo and pace of swing. A lesson to all amateur golfers that you don't have to belt the skin off the ball to hit it far!

So the season comes to an end in Scotland - we've been absolutely spoiled for golf in this country this year too! The Scottish Open, The British Open, The Johnnie Walker Classic, The Seniors Open at Muirfield, the Ladies British Open and the Dunhill Links - the feelgood factor around Scottish golf just now is as equally high as the Scottish football scene - roll on next season!
