I keep seeing this lazy nonsense on Hibs.net. I have been following the Hibees for 47 years and have been to nearly every ground in Scotland; many down south and some abroad. I have seen a few scuffles. EVERY time I have been to Ibrox however, something rotten has happened to Hibbies. I have been the victim myself twice! I have also seen and heard of Rangers fans’ violence at ER. On the other hand, I have never seen or heard of any incidents when attending ER or Parkhead V Celtic. Only exceptions have been when casuals were at their height but then again, they were fighting each other, not attacking ‘scarvies’.
There are a shedload of reasons why I don’t like Celtic, but, being attacked by their fans certainly isn’t one of them. Rangers, as an institution, stand for everything I am against - morally, politically, in fact everything. Too many bigots, psychopaths and right wingers in their crowd for me.🙁

Sorry, you’re definitely right on that. The only good thing about that was the Celtic fans who were pointing out the 3 wannabe casuals who launched it and, if the stories are to be believed, the same group of casuals were set upon at Celtic Park by the precursor of the Green Brigade. I was at ER that day too and it was literally stomach churning. Thing is, that’s one which is remembered as it was on a scale which was totally unprecedented. Count up everyone’s experiences re Celtic and Rangers and the incidents v The Gers will win all hands down! Not even remotely close.

It's only more recently that the Celtic fans have started behaving towards us. Probably since they started chasing ambulances and pretending to be 'a club like no other'..

Yet some just can’t help themselves. In response to justifiable anger aimed at the Billy Boys we get this ‘ah but they’re just as bad as Celtc...’ Why do they think there is even a neeed to mention another team?

For my sins I have a few Jambo mates. They tell me they do not get this prehistoric treatment every time they go to Parkhead. In fact, their main concern at Tuesday’s game was the empty seats in their section.

Yup, not a fan of either but we are talking about The Rangers here, not the other bum cheek.
It's not edifying but I really suggest that folk who can't see a difference between the two sets of support should spend half an hour in the Bear's Den. The volume of
bile, hatred and bigotry almost defies belief; the twitter guy who has suggested it's time to send bullets to NL (again) is far from alone.
Kerrydale et al are annoying, smug and self-anointing but not entirely loathsome; The Peepul are execrable, & in a League of One; it actually undermines
acceptance of just how vile they are when folk simply say Celtic are the same.

"best fans in the world" "club like no other" Typical celtic. Arrogant and believe themselves to be some special club that champion a good cause. They can't understand why everyone doesn't fall over themselves gushing over them and adoring them. Its cringeworthy. I hate hate hate how they see us as their "wee cousins". We have come a long way and rid ourselves of the sectarian nonsense (yes we still have a very small minority who wish to indulge in it but in general its a problem that doesn't exist at hibs).

In all seriousness mate - this thread is about the Huns so why dont you start your own thread the next time we go to Parkead and Hibs fans are gobbled on, hit by missiles/piss and we get our heads opened up by bottles of Buckie lobbed indiscriminately into a crowd of hibbys ? Once you’ve done that I’d happily join you in condemning the cowardly ********s.

How did you get on the pitch from the cowshed? Did the gas get that far? Wee rogue nicking in the terracing.

I was in the East that day just under the roof at the north end and I had flu like symptoms for a few days afterwards, the gas definitely affected folk at that end of the ground. Cant believe it was 30 years ago ... jeezo

As for the OP:

Its a fact that the Huns are by far the worst ..... It would be fair to say they look on Hearts the way Celtic do us to an extent, but I recall relatively recently the Hearts fans getting a terrible time at Ibrox after a game was postponed at the last minute, a few doings were handed out to the Gorgie faithful outside the ground if I recall correctly. They mostly truly are ****, but not all, they do have a few decent guys just like normal clubs, its just that they are drowned out by the majority.

Its true that for some reason Celtic fans labour under a brothers in arms delusion that certainly isn't reciprocated by 99.9% of Hibbies, but as a result they don't give us much grief .... I doubt fans of Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd etc can say the same .... for Hibs fans to give Celtic a pass just coz they don't cause us too much bother is a bit like giving Hitler a pass coz he liked dugs.

I agree, the ibrox experience is far worse than the parkhead experience but the point I was making is that celtic are latching onto this and once again tryna make out they're wonderful when really they've got no moral high ground to be taking.

There's a reason they're called the Ugly Sisters.

As far as I'm concerned they are exactly the same and the only difference is the far more obnoxious public behaviour in general of supporters of The Rangers.

The blue ones are worse because they're bigger bigots or because they're way more aggressive? Nope, a bigot is a bigot, is a bigot - green or blue.

Defeat is so very bitter for them. Neil always rises above it anyway. The irony is the 'loyalist' type threats that one or two spout after defeat fall on deaf ears. No one is interested. It really is just the case of sad lonely (probably drunken) keyboard blue nose clowns.

The huns are the **** of Scottish fitba, but, the problem is, their moron fans are everywhere, in the police (see the threats in the Big Case), the BBC, well, the media as a whole, the bloody SFA, one of many reasons why they are untouchable and can get away with all the crap they do, why do you think there was such a witch hunt against us at massive expense after the Cup Final, hunduggery. Their reach in Scotland is pretty frightening. It really is.
The last time I ever had bother with sellik fans were they couple of silly casuals with a CS cannister. Been to Parkhead many times since then even going into the Celtic end andI have never had a problem with them. The wee brother thing is annoying but thats how they think until told otherwise.

True mate ......... but what thread on this subject doesn't become that :greengrin

To be honest all this diet Tims and diet Huns nonsense that this sort of thread has in the background needs to be binned before any discussion of who is the more detestable of the two clubs even begins.

The Yams cant really make a big play of our Irish Republican persona because these days we don't really have one .... Instead they make a big deal of the number of players we get on loan from Celtic ... ignoring the fact that our last two managers both have connections at Celtic and besides who the hell wouldn't want to sign players of the quality of McGeouch, Henderson, Commons, Ambrose and now Allan? ... our gain and the Yams loss if the fact they have Celtic connections stops them being interested, which if true is mind bogglingly stupid.

We on the other hand make a big deal of the small Billy boy element in their support with their union flags and borrowed songs from the Huns repertoire, but even we know that the vast majority of Yams don't have much time for it ... even if from time to time at ER they all like to join in.

Dunno where I'm going with this, suffice to say I'm agin it :greengrin

Game v Celtic early 70s I was 11 and first time me and my bro were allowed to go to a big game on our own as our dad was attending a wedding. Teams come onto the park, I started clapping shouted, Cmon the Hibs, fat, ugly 30 odd year old female Celtic supporter turned round and punched me square in the puss.

There was a Rangers fan around 15/16 years of age (right next to the police line to the left of us) who spent more of the game taunting (or attempting to taunt) the Hibs fans than actually watching the game. To face us he actually had to turn away from the pitch so he barely saw any of it.

I don't get that at all. Why would you pay good money to not actually watch a game?

Many years ago I was standing as part of a large group who were being penned in by the police. We were in high spirits, carrying on and having a laugh when someone shouts out "look at the size of the c unt on that horse" in the direction of a female police officer (who was obviously on a horse). Rightly or wrongly we all started laughing as it was pretty funny at the time. Before you know it the police officer and horse are right in amongst us and she grabs the guy by the collar and then takes off down the street still holding on to him. I can still picture it as she's galloping down the street and he's trying to keep up with the horse. Might be one of those had to be there moments but its one of the funniest things I've ever seen and still makes me laugh. There's no way she'd get away with it now a days as everyone would have filmed and it was pretty reckless if not dangerous.

My jambo mates tell me that’s just nonsense. They also assured me they don’t have threads on Sickback about Celtc being ‘the **** of the earth’ every time they play at Parkhead. Worst aggro for them recently has been at Ibrox in fact.

As we keep repeating - the OP created this thread coz of the disgusting behaviour of the Huns. There’s not really any need for folk to jump to their rescue by mentioning other teams. If there are similar problems at Hearts, Celtc or wherever then I’m sure we’ll soon see other threads popping up. As it stands we get threads about the Huns EVERY time we play them - thus proving the title of this thread is indeed spot on!

Seems fair to me :greengrin. Quality woman.

There you go SJM one of their fans doesn't mind if you're a fenian xyz. How can you not resist joining the club.

The fact that The Rangers players called Sean or Declan are now allowed to use their own tarrier forenames might be seen as some form of improvement as it was only a couple of decades ago that Kevin McMinn of the Rangers was known by the nickname "Ted" to avoid any Fenian connotations. And not long before that, Danny McGrains Fenian sounding name was enough for Der Hun to do a body swerve on signing him.

Nowadays the Hun support will grudgingly allow "Fenians" to turn out for them but the mindset hasn't changed. And there don't seem to be any efforts by the Hun boards to address that mindset.

My mate was a big Rangers man and stopped going after an away game at Dunfermline where him and his young son were subjected to a Rangers fan beside them who labelled every Dunfermline player, fan and the match officials as Fenian bs and C's for the full 90 minutes.

There seems to be a view on this thread that we get it tough from the huns because of who we are.. truth is they are like that with everyone.

We get it tough because of WHAT they are, they are defined by their very narrow boundaries and when it comes to matters linked to the entity that plays football at Ibrox even the most intelligent ones in normal life are somehow compelled to revert to type. Whilst the rest of society has evolved this sub species sadly hasn't felt able to make the leap to tolerance or even basic decency. If only Scotland could find somewhere for them to go.

That answer is too easy mate, ask any Jambo you know what it's like going to Celtic and you'll hear similar stories to what we say about the Huns.

No, his answer is based on his experience of going to football for 47 years, not anecdotal premises like"ask any Jambo"......

There was Hibs fan to the left of me doing the same on Saturday while waving a tricolour about, why go if not to watch the game

Just wait for the standard manipulated Daily Record Poll

Should Neil Lennon Tweeter be punished or rewarded? Have your say:

Punished 6%
Rewarded 94%

We've handed these results onto Police Scotland.

I've never in my 50 years of following Hibs encountered any problems/threats/intimidation, or felt fear, when playing Celtic.
I have, however, on more occasions than I can remember, suffered all of the aforementioned when the now defunct club - Glasgow Rangers and it's evil reincarnation, Sevco, come calling.
The mindless, bigoted, neanderthals who follow this Glasgow team belong in the dark ages and have no place in a civilized world.

I think they are regressing at a rate of knots. Songs which were pretty much silent a few years back again being sung out every week. Shameful from all that this happens unchecked, the most shame should be the shambles of a club themselves. Not an iota of self respect.

You can despise whoever you want absolutely nothing at all to do with me but you are kidding yourself if you don’t think the hun support are pound for pound easily the worst in Scotland.. and I’ll stand by that all day.. that ok with you..?👍

So will I. While celtic can be patronising and not the nicest when we beat them the huns are the **** off the earth.

Just a few examples -

Ref is a Tim ****
Cheating fenian *******s
Cheat Willy collum! (A school teacher in a catholic school)
(on Lennon) I swear he will be Next Scotland Manager, and Dempsey for Reagan in, its a corrupt Fenian Cabal
Just because you teach Papist Values as a RE teacher in a Catholic school doesn't make you biased at all
Collums an r.e teacher in a catholic school, that’s all you need to know
Totally out done by a tarrier ned
****ing atrocious tactics but the fenian ref was the difference
****ed it. Fenian ref and no 2 up frot has ****ed any slim chances of sneaking this league. gutted
......and the referee is clearly a taig, but No Surrender...

And then there's the outright sick/sinister -

Collum's a wee ****er hope he contracts aids the ****

Sheer blatant bigoted-sectarianism from just a few pages ! How this site is allowed to continue/exist in a modern Scotland is beyond me - it can't be because the Police/authorities don't know it exists ?. Ffs it's 2018 but clearly for the Hun 'Specimens-pickled-in-jars' it's 1718 !

Imagine if they were referring to black people using the ‘N’ word? The site would be closed down and quite rightly doors would by now getting knocked. Alas it is still acceptable in Scotland in 2018 to abuse catholics publicly even though they are committing the same offence?? Seems very odd to me and is definitely a Scottish problem. Ask people in England what a ‘fenian’ is and the majority wouldn’t know or even heard the word before, or have any clue what the difference is. The authorities need to get a grip of this problem, total embarrassment in the 21st century.

This new club, have what the old club that died but it seems more of, and that's a sense of entitlement.

An entitlement to do what they want to the detriment of EVERY other club, to reach their goal as the best club in Scotland.

They also think they can say and do whatever they like because of their traditions, which is quite funny really, because everything catholic is hated, yet they cheer all their goals that are scored by a team full of them.

Half the morons who support this new club, have no idea what they sing and what they spout on about, but do it because it's their right, history and tradition.

Yet when you point out to them that their club is full of catholics, the very thing they hate to its core, they just put their fingers in their ears and ignore it.

The Rangers, a more confused set of fuds you'd struggle to find anywhere in this world we live in.

I unfortunately have the delight of a "family friend" who is a Hun. Sent me a couple of videos before the Hibs game with around 150 - 200 folk crammed into this club, and the DJ was actually playing their own renditions of songs, modified to suit their bigot needs. They ****ers were lapping it up. Apparently this happens every other weekend and its a well known fact it does.

Rangersmedia has always been a loosely moderated forum and it's something we pride ourselves on. However, lately, we have seen a rise and an almost overpowering amount of personal abuse. Too many topics have been derailed by unnecessary and petty abuse. It will not be tolerated any longer.

If posters continue to post abusive and threatening comments they will be warned. If this continues after their warning then they will be banned.

We are all adults and we expect everyone to act like one.
This was actually posted at the top of their forum on January 22nd!!!
Much difference it has made.
Just how far does anyone have to go to be banned?

That bit is just completely wrong. I knew Ted McMinn when he was at primary school and he was called Ted then. As an aside he always used to get stuck in goals as nobody had any confidence in him. To be fair he was probably about 8 years old:greengrin

Most don’t have a clue why they ‘hate Catholics’. They’ve been brainwashed since birth that there needs to be an enemy and it’s just that their ‘enemy’ hasn’t been updated since the 17th Century.

I remember about 10 years ago I was walking down Lothian road before a hibs rangers game. I wasn't wearing any hibs gear but I did have a green hoodie on. A bus load of rangers fans pulled up beside me, stopped at the lights. They saw me and started banging on the windows, shouting abuse, giving the finger etc. I remember thinking to myself they have no idea who I am. I was on my own in the centre of a city. If I was a tourist I would not be leaving with a good impression. All it took was for them to see some green and they were foaming at the mouth.
