Hey guys,

I'd really appreciate any tips re THe Sevco away car park?

Out of all my trips there, I've never managed to actually find it (not least due to extremely unhelpful stewards), and I've had to park in really dodgy locations, and be taunted by huns every step of the way.

So basically, how're we accessing it, how much does it cost and how early do I have to show up to secure a space?

Thanks all

Its pretty much directly behind the Broomloan Stand (Broomloan Road). Signposted at entrance and is £7 a car I think. Should be enough room to accommodate everyone, but safer to be there in good time.

It can be absolute nightmare to get out of that car park, they tend to keep you in for ages, sometimes the police don't bother with directing the traffic which means that you've to wait for every Hun to leave the area as they won't let you out.

I honestly don't recall it being too bad (I did miss the one when nobody got to leave for about an hour maybe the last time as we travelled by train). The police usually wait till everyone is on their bus/in car, which by that time after being held in Ibrox post match for a bit a lot of the home traffic is on its way. It's busy getting onto the M8, and ideally the police will want to shut the lights off and direct by hand, and have the Hibs fans out the car park and straight onto M8, so they will keep you in car park until they feel it will move swiftly. Let's face it, you are better sitting in the car park than stationary in traffic on Broomloan Road a sitting duck.

There's been a few times where I've waited 30 minutes and not moved an inch because the police haven't been directing the traffic and no-one can get out unless a hun was to let you out which is never going to happen as it's obvious that everyone in there is an away fan.

Still better than parking in a random place.

What are the chances of a police escort back to the train station after the game? Rangers fans aren't being shy when talking about attacking us after the game and stuff. I'm in a group of 3 guys in our early 20s which is probably the perfect target for a group of rabid huns

It's doubtful that they would escort 3 people back to the train station.

You would need to be part of a larger crowd I think.

That's what I meant sorry if it wasn't obvious, I wouldn't expect them to escort 3 people :).

Three of us walking back to the train station after the game too. Scarves hidden you'll be fine.

Peace of mind in the car park but be prepared to wait until every last Sevco supporter is safely back home with their tea on the table. Between being held back in the ground then the car park, I hope you're not in a hurry to get home. I usually park a bit further up the road then on the street to the right. Never had any grief and I have a Hibs number plate. Just be sensible and hide any colours.

Look at an aerial view on google maps. It's the sort of banana shaped area of empty tarmac across the road from the broomloan. I've parked across the motorway in pollokshields a couple of times. It's actually alright considering how close to snake mountain.

Glasgow City Council have recently implemented new parking controls in all of the housing areas and industrial areas around the stadium, so pretty much anything proximate (aside from the actual car park) is going to be off limits.

Best using a supporters bus or public transport if you don't fancy parking in the car park.

It would be really dangerous for you. Happy to take your tickets as Im older in my 50's and immune.

Seriously I didnt have any bother last time as long as I didnt wear colours and kept my head down. Travelled with a 20 year old.
