Don't think O'Neil played for us in the 80s one of my favourites when I was a kid probably only liked Darren Jackson above him.

I reckon if you struggle to recall the decade that Michael O'Neill played for us then you're either spot on with your 50s and 60s selection or just guessing as you've not been there.
Either way, a notable omission from firstly the 60s and very definitely the 70s suggest senility :greengrin

Probably senility setting in......

I did say you didn't have to have seen then in the flesh.
My first game was around pre season 67 I think and remember Jim Scott was playing but then got transferred. Jim Scott the world's best shot sang the crowd. remember Hibs on TV beating Rangers 3-1 at Ibrox and Marinello scored twice.
Hard to remember evert team/ player in chronological order. Some things stand out more than others

Honourable mentions to the other 10 Tornadoes, especially Shades and Flyer, Benny, Gordon Rae, Benny again, Mickey Weir, John Collins, Pat McGinlay, Geebsie, Darren Jackson, the entire Golden Generation and wee Lewis.

Was Paddy never your favourite? I never knew anyone of that vintage not adoring the man. I did. So did my dad. And my mum!

Keith was such an underrated player (in the sense of over the decades).

His sister worked for Safeway when he was with us and I was a wee part-timer - she was such a lovely person and I just stood watching her stack shelves in awe that she had the same genetic code as the legend that is Keef !!!

Fine player, fine finisher, and at the time in our history, his signing gave the club a huge boost - love him. And he's a thoroughly decent spud too.

Happy to confirm I have indeed seen them all in the flesh.

Without realising it, and on reflection, my choice turns out to be a pretty decent midfield 4 plus front 2. :greengrin

50's Gordon Smith

60's Peter Marinello

70's Alex Cropley

90's Darren Jackson

00's Derek Riordan

50's Lawrie Reilly

60's (just!) Erich Schaedler

70's Alex Edwards

80's Stevie Cowan/Steve Archibald

90's (just!) Franck Sauzee

00's Scott Brown

10's John McGinn is the first player in a long time who gets me up off my seat, but I would quite happily spend the rest of eternity caressing David Gray's beautiful bald head :greengrin

I was too young to have seen Lawrie and Erich play, but they were mates of my uncle's so, for no other reason than that, they're my picks. Met them both when I was a kid (Lawrie many times) and hadn't a clue who they were at the time. To say I'm gutted to have been just that wee bit young to appreciate them as more than just my Uncle James' pals is an understatement!

Also a wee bit young to have properly appreciated the teams of the 70s, but Mickey worked beside my dad so that's why I picked him. It's actually just occurred to me that comps from him are probably the reason I'm a Hibby now. Well there you go! *insert lightbulb smiley*

He's always been my hero from an early age and I've had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions as I used to work at the gym he goes to and he is a gent.

Alex Edwards got a brief mention on here from a poster that never saw him play, I can assure him that Mickey was different class, but for that ludicrous 8 game ban we would've been champs no prob.
