The RSS Bot is very slow with the news.

Morton tickets have been on sale for some time. I bought my Ayr ticket yesterday and could have done the same for Dundee United if I'd wanted.

There are very few central seats for walk ups in either the East or West, which is a credit to those who bought season tickets.

No,how would the club know?

Might be something worth looking into as season goes on if attendances and feel good factor remain high
We do a gift back option whereby season ticket holders let the club b know that you won't be attending and the club can re sell
Means for a lot of games especially those that sell out earlier the club is in fact "selling " more than the capacity
Games like Aberdeen Dundee etc come into that category and also means games like yesterday where there were less than 30 available before kick off people were able to buy a couple together if season ticket holders released or at least able to buy in a section which had previously sold out

I went to get one for son and heir who is a student and lives in Glasgow. Usual bollox from ticket office his student status ran out in July. Showed them a pic of his offer to do a Masters degree but that was not good enough so had to buy an adult ticket again! That wee rant aside tickets are selling quick and it is only Monday.

Hibs have that option I believe but with 20k+seats it's not been an issue. Maybe as the season progresses it will be needed.

Thought Dunfermline was a one-off, but it's clear that something pretty amazing is happening at Hibs right now. If we keep wining, I can see attendances increasing further to the point we do have to open the South Stand for home fans.

I think we are looking at minimum 14k and likely 14500-14750 would be my educated guess taking account of sales, walk ups and small percentage that can't make the game. Which would mean we are averaging 15500 after two home games.

Keep the results going and bring in a couple of players and we should keep a good average up all season.

I wonder if BBC Radio Scotland will wax lyrical about it like they do for the yams? Nope doubt it!

They announce the Yams attendance sometimes even during the first half and congratulate the Yams on it. It's become part of their broadcast to do this every time the Yams are playing at the piggery. A Yam love in.

Yes fairly close.

Home maximum crowd can by just over 16000...

My view is that this will go down by say max 500 on Friday and then 1000-1500 walk ups on Saturday so let's say 15500 sold, less those who don't turn up (say 750) and some hospitality unsold (150) and add in say 250 - 300 Morton fans and we will be at close to 15k.

I think this is the most likely scenario. Maybe it won't happen today, but momentum seems to be building, and I think soon, possibly Dundee United, we could see a lock out of fans in home stands.

Hope not.

As I'm now a fat Cambridge University Netball Team I've got a seat in the West Upper. On Wednesday night there was lots of green around my seat. This space is needed to stretch out during the game but more importantly to have a lie down before kick off after I've scaled the west face of Easter Road.

After tomorrow's game I don't see any real point in buying a season ticket from a financial point of view.

However it would enable someone to get a decent seat as walk ups have to move pretty quickly if the Dunfermline and Morton games prove typical.

I'm sure fans if they spoke with ticket office would be able to get it sorted.

I think a huge part of the sales is the buzz being created around the crowds.

If people feel like they are going to be missing out by not attending along with 14/15K others then they are likely to be more inclined to buy a ticket than if they feel they can just stroll up and buy one if they fancy on the day because folk are moaning we have only sold 7 or 8K.

I know we have a laugh about Hearts and their crowd obsession but imo it's great for the game in this country if Hibs, Aberdeen and Hearts can all regularly be attracting upwards of 14000. Getting the fans back is the hardest part as it's getting people back into the habit, now we have done that it's up to the manager and team to keep them here.

Hopefully the buzz and atmosphere at the last home game has given the walk ups even more reason to come back again and buy tickets early if they feel they might struggle to get a ticket in an area where they want to sit. I had 4-5 seats around me empty, I don't know if it was season ticket holders on holiday or buy on the day seats but there wasn't too many spare TBH.

100% agree. People without season tickets know that, if you want a good seat you need to buy 4/5 days in advance. Once people hear sales are going well they buy in advance before the day to make sure meaning they can't then change their mind on matchday, which I've done before. Crowds are often a vicious circle - luckily we're in a positive one!

Keeping them is the next step. So how long would they need to be going for it to become a habit? Its up for debate but I would suggest round five years.

What do we therefore need to do over the next five years in order to keep the feel good factor as high as it currently is? Going up this season is absolutely crucial. I would then say that we would need to finish in the top six for the next four seasons (with one or two top 3/4's thrown in). A good few derby victories would also help!

This is obviously my own estimate of the kind of success we will need in order to make it a 'habit' for these fans. I believe it's very achievable though and would allow our core supporter base to grow. Which will allow us to progress as a club.

Apart from it all being Pretty Boy's fault as someone who has sat in that section this season my theory would be that even though its got a great view of the pitch you cant see much of the east stand from there, which when its full is a sight to behold ... not much good to you if you cant behold it :greengrin

In Milton Keynes, MK Dons have a stall in the middle of the shopping centre selling tickets and merchandise. Good bit of marketing I think, gets the club noticed by people who wouldn't normally see it, and handy for impulse buying items for presents etc.

Dot counting doesn't give an accurate figure as the Club take out sections of tickets probably to sell in the pods? Where we sit , in the Upper West next to the away fans , tickets are always the last to go. I noticed the end section had hardly sold one yesterday and today 2 great blocks have gone. It was the same for the Dunfermline game and looked virtually sold out ( not many ST's sold in this area) but come game day there were plenty of seats.

Will still be a good crowd though and am looking forward to 3 more points for Hibs to keep the momentum and feel good factor going.:flag:

Just had a quick look, a few red sections in the West now and only 3 green sections( 2, 9 and 15). East section 41 is red with the rest only having a few seats left (other that the edge sections 45 and 37 green). FF upper still has 2 green (22 and 25) sections but the rest going well. Sorry no dot count though

I don't know if that's true or not maybe someone who works in the ticket office could confirm it one way or the other. I reckon the office works on the same system as we see it. I could be wrong but I think they do.

OK.....I will confirm after the game tomorrow. What happened to the tickets that were marked as sold for 5 days before the Dunfermline game where the seats were empty? These are not ST seats so a number of people bought tickets and never turned up??

The lower section I see is the same.......yesterday 3 tickets sold and now 2 large sections are apparently sold. This may be true of course ......and I hope it is , but I wouldn't go too overboard on dot counting.

At 10pm last night we had just over 2700 seats left in the home end .
So about 14.000 going in the Hibs end so far .

Spot on, I've said this a number of times. Even getting over the 12k mark people start getting the buzz around it. It's infectious.

It's on the same system, but the pods sell tickets that are pre-printed rather than on the live computer system. As such, the ticket office will print x number of tickets in each stand to be sold from the pods, with those seats then marked as unavailable as a ticket has been issued for it. That's the danger in dot counting - as I've posted on here before - as an unavailable seat doesn't necessarily translate as a 'sold' seat.

Straight from Hibs website

Tickets are on sale at the Hibernian Ticket Office from 10am-1pm. Thereafter tickets will only be on sale from the Ticket Pods, which are in operation at the East, Famous Five and West Stands, subject to ticket availability. The new West Stand Ticket Pod is located at the south end of the stand. Ticket pods are open from 1pm.
Supporters are advised purchase tickets online and use the print at home option to beat the queues at Easter Road, with this option available until 90 minutes before kick-off.

That to me suggests any dot counting up to 1pm tomorrow is going to give a reasonable idea of tickets sold.

But the tickets have to be printed at some stage and understandably they won't want to do it on match day. This would only be changed by installing the relevant number of computers and printers in each pod with accompanying licences for the software which won't be financially viable for the club, not particularly secure in terms of storing the computers and printers in the pods.

(The above has nothing to do with the fact that I'm manager of a sports-based ticket office that similarly has to pre-print tickets for certain selling points on a match day!)

I'm sure you are right Lancashire judging by the blocks that suddenly were marked as unavailable today. Obviously there are still other tickets available so the ticket office can still remain open till 1pm tomorrow.

Assumption being that as this message was aimed at Hibs fans on a Hibs web site but granted it could be read two ways and isn't clear. One of my biggest gripes with Hibs comms to be honest is the way that information is written...

Ticket pods will now be in operation at all four stands from 1pm for a 3pm kick-off, with the Ticket Office selling match tickets between 10am and 1pm. Home stand pods now have cash and card facilities, while the South Stand ticket pod is cash only.
