Questions for the statisticians, Apart from the fact that this will be our 3rd Scottish cup final in 5 years + 1 League cup final ( the old firm will have reached far more consecutive finals), but

How about a team outwith the top division reaching both cup finals in the same season, is this a first?
Another unwanted achievement would be to lose both cup finals in the same season, but I'm sure that must have been done before but by whom?

If Rangers beat Celtic will this be the first SFA cup final contested by two teams outside the top flight?

Aberdeen done it 5 times, twice winning both, twice losing both
Dundee Utd done it twice, once losing both, never winning both
East Fife,, Dundee and Motherwell all done it once, all three winning the League Cup and losing the FA Cup, So Aberdeen the only team outside the Old
Firm to have won the FA Cup the same season they lost the League Cup

Were not all the other teams mentioned including East Fife in the Top tier of scottish football when they reached both finals?
I believe this is the first time a team has reached both finals in the same season without being in the Prem or old div1.

Now we just need to win the thing :greengrin
