Quite often see quotes like that from Henderson...would love if we went up and signed him perm.

As for Logan! What a game! Good for Hibs to finally get some random luck like that, out of the blue we get an awesome display.

Whether he keeps his place in not sure, one performance (no matter how good) doesn't make a regular first team keeper so would understand if Stubbs doesn't do it. That said maybe he might just be the spark that gets the team going again!

Fantastic performance today. He kept us in the game with some outstanding saves when utd went through one on one. He commanded his area, looked really up for it and that's before the penalties. Then he saved the first two taking the pressure right off our penalty takers.
We've been unhappy with Oxley for so long, Logan has to be allowed the chance to keep the jersey and for me that means he must start on Wednesday, anything else would be madness.

I'm not going to turn a praising one player thread into a slating another one, but this is what we've been looking for. Very brave and aggressive and bailed us out when the defence didn't do their job.

Obviously we can't guarantee performances like that every week but I like to see a keeper with personality who you know is out there. If he isn't playing on Wednesday I will not be happy.

It was a pleasure to watch a keeper who was not rooted to the goal line all the time.

For someone who has been out of circulation for so long, his reading of the situation and his reflexes were as sharp as any top keeper.

Don't think his current physique is a handicap as he was impressively fast off his line to block and narrow the angle.

Cannot see how he can be benched by Stubbs after this performance.

Best individual performance from a Hibs keeper ever?
Andy Goram at Tynecastle, we got humped four nil but it could have been double but for Goram; I'm sure he was given the man of the match and remains the only none Hearts player to have received that accolade at their ground.

It was one of the most remarkable displays of goalkeeping from a Hibs keeper that I have ever seen. Logan will rightly be remember as the hero of hampden. It was in the vintage of our greats - Leighton, Goram and Burridge. This is the closest I could find but even this pales after the sublime display of today. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iInKs5CUPYY

100% agree.

He blocked several one on ones, got in the road of others, made a super save down to his left corner, saved two penalties, all in all he had a superlative game.

Cheers Conrad.

Peculiar post.

I wouldn't say it was peculiar- Goram was truly unbelievable that day, did get the MOTM and even the Jambos in the shed chanted his name although he did decline their request to give them a wave.

Only bit that's wrong is that we lost 3-1 not 4-0. Joe Tortolano our scorer IIRC.

If you saw him playing in a pub team on a Sunday morning, even then you might say check out the nick of that keeper, but take a bow son, first game in 18 months or so and he was MOM by a country mile. Oxley might struggle to get his place back after today.

I was down towards the corner flag at our goal in the 1st half. I must admit when he turned round and I saw his gut, I was worried.

But oh my days, he was fantastic. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. As well the superb saves, he totally commanded his area, telling the defenders to get further up the park. I agree with all the others, MoM without a shadow of a doubt.

He played his heart out and it was nice to see all the players running over to him at the end.

Conrad was on BBC Radio 5 Live Afternoon Edition this afternoon, during their sporting heroes of the weekend feature during the last hour.

I only caught a 5min segment when I jumped in the car. He was talking about the penalties, likelihood of playing in the final, talking up the league game on weds. Some smart a**ed comments about the last time Hibs won the cup etc from contributors and text-ers, but in the main was generally good exposure on UK national radio. I've not looked it up on their listen again feature, but it might be worth a look up.

I can't see Stubbs giving out team info before he has to. Why help the opposition prepare by telling them which keeper you're going to pick?

If this isnt just mind games and Oxley is back in goals on Wednesday then im done with Stubbs, i've deliberately not jumped on the bandwagon despite serious concerns about his tactics and substitutions but if Logan doesnt get to keep his place in the team after saturdays performance then im out.

All it shows is that regardless of how players are performing the same people will continually get picked....and thats why we are struggling to get out of this bloody league now!

I have no problem admitting im wrong, unlike many im not one for knee-jerk reactions and teeth-gnashing everytime something goes wrong. In fact I have been insisting that firing Stubbs will do us no good and he should stay in the job for next season even if we dont get promoted.

However putting Oxley back in goals after Logans performance on Saturday reeks of stubborness and sends completely the wrong message to the squad and to the fans.

The_Horde

He has to stick with Ox.

Conrad came in and played very well, but at the end of the day Oxley wasn't binned for bad form so it wouldn't be right to drop him.

On the plus side, at least now Ox knows if he makes a mistake he could well lose his place.

Absolutely ...... From the likes of Marvin Bartley who didn't get onto the pitch at Hampden, but who was vital in our defeat of the Yams to Kevin Thomson who didn't even make the bench, but whose header off the line at Tynecastle saved us from a last minute Yam winner that day. Heroes one and all.

But what a ******ing performance by the big man! Unbelievable from start to finish! Made 3 or 4 outstanding saves before 2 fantastic saves in the shootout. His shouting at the penalties was quality. As others have stated, hes was giving the Utd players grief when they were placing the ball, telling them what they were going to do, putting them off and being a nuisance.

If you watch the replays, the 3rd and 4th Utd penalty takers make gestures at him...
