It was. It was the day after Hillsborough.

3 down after half an hour, IIRC. Fulton destroyed McIntyre, who was subbed after about 20.

We scored early second half, and then almost scored again soon after (offside or hit the bar?).

I left with about 20 to go; my abiding memory is of an incandescent (and probably steaming) Jimmy O'Rourke shouting the odds at the club hierarchy.

I think this is my fifth Final - seen defeats to Aberdeen, Rangers, Celtic and Livingston. But I'm taking with my wife who has a 100% win record - 1 game v Aberdeen in the cup at Easter Road a couple of years ago - when Williams saved the penalty.

Thought I had missed the bus from the old Shades bar for the 85 final as no one was there at 11am . Only to find out the clocks had went back an hour and it was only 10 am :)
Quite weird that were in another league cup final but the clocks go forward an hour for this one .

Been at every final and semi final since 1979. I was at all three in 79 and I'm claiming them as three. Anyone who was there will understand why. Huns back then were even wore than they are now. Savages who were above the law. Anyhow, we have a poor final record as stated but we have been in more finals and semi finals than any other team bar the ugly sisters I believe. Just wish we could turn those visits into victories more often
