Sad thing is, as far as they are concerned, take him out of that team and they're even crappier than they actually are. He's their only footballer. Not a hoofballer like the rest of his team mates.

If you were caught doing this in the street, not only would you almost certainly be arrested, if you were then charged and convicted, you would be classed as a sex offender and could possibly even end up with a prison sentence.

I think he thought you were being a tad dramatic.

I've changed my mind, even though feeling your crotch wi yer hands doon yer breeks in public is considered hip with the young team these days, there is no place for it on the football field. Young Nicholson should be charged and convicted an accorded his rightful place on the sex offenders register blah, blah, moral indignation ad infinitum etc, the game's in need of some more sanitisation, the players are role models after all and we are such a delicate, delicate audience these days that acts like this will drive even fans away from the game.

Totally unacceptable in this day in age and the SPFL/SFA better review what took place and take the relevant action prior to someone going to the police and making a formal complaint.

Just watched it back on my sky box, the still pictures don't tell the full story. It's one thing grabbing your crotch like you're in a music video but their was a bit too much simulation of a certain act for my liking, it was disgusting and was a the sort of act that should never be done to a crowd especially when there are children.

I'm not really too bothered by what opposition players do to celebrate goals but in the context of punishments given retrospectively to leigh griffiths and michael higdon a few years back then this is definitely worthy of a ban. However given that he was booked at the time i suspect the compliance officer won't look at it. Further confirmation that they're creepy weirdos though. Not that it was required.

The above shows that a suspension can be issued despite the player being booked at the time. We were successful in our appeal for cummings but i can't help thinking that today's "celebration" should be a bit harder to appeal if the charge is making an offensive gesture at opposition fans.

Football fans make me laugh sometimes. Some of our fans need to take a good look at themselves. Not Hibs class to be shamelessly abusing a young women, albeit a girlfriend of a Hearts player, from the stands. Not how I'd choose to celebrate a goal in a derby. Does make himself look a bit of an idiot, especially with Save the Children emblazoned across his chest. However there's no need for further action imo. Seeing his sour face in the interview at the end was karma. Get it up you, you horrible hearts fud.

Defending a Hearts player while having a pop at the Hibs fans? 😳

So just because he is a hearts player i cant say that i dont see a huge deal with it? The guy was getting it tight most of the game and reacted, yip what he done was daft but to suggest getting the police involved is just daft, our support often shout stupid things at players and if they were out on the street would get arrested but dont see comments asking for the police to get involved

What he done was daft but to get the police involved is just daft, and to compare it to just going out in the street to do it is a daft comment as well, the guy was getting dogs abuse and done it in the heat of the moment. Its good to see though that we have perfect people supporting us that have never done something stupid

Its not a great gesture, he shouldnt have done it. How many of us have made the ****er movement with our fists at opposition players and thought nothing of it?

Yogi dropped his shorts and showed his erse at them once if my memory is right, doesn't make it right, and i hope the gimp gets suspended for his actions yesterday.

What i will say though, is im not offended but understand if some folk are, but i've seen much worse at football games by fans.

He performed that 'act' on live TV - there would have been many thousands more watching all over that weren't abusing him. Hardly justifies his obscene and perverted response to a large TV audience. If a Hibs player had acted in this way I would have been equally disgusted by his behaviour. Totally unnecessary.

Djoum scores the first... Hertz players to a man wind up the away support.
Nicholson scores a 2nd... Runs facing the away support grabbing and playing with his bawes with team mates in tow.

JC scores for Hibs... Celebrates with his own fans.
Hanlon equalises in injury time... All bar Ox celebrate with the Hibs fans. Ox celebrates on his own without the need to turn and wind up the yam support directly behind him.

And there you have it.

Playing devils advocate here. How would Hibs fans react to this if it had been a Hibs player in the same situation? I'd guess most would be seeing it as a GIRFUY gesture and nothing else.

What we should be doing is celebrating a fantastic comeback and looking forward to a replay, even discussing "what if Stoke pass to Cummings at the death had been inch perfect".

If the authorities do decide to take this further then so be it but there is no need for Hibs fans to get in a frenzy about it whether you were offended or not. If it had been a Morton or Alloa player doing the same thing would there have been the same reaction? I very much doubt it.

I don't think the police should be involved but he shouldn't get away with it. He's a pro footballer and part of the job is to take stick from your rival fans. To react like that was embarrassing and I hope he's pulled up for it. If it's a fine or a ban I'll be happy.

I could imagine someone in parliment doing it .

it's almost like having a pee in the street. if you get caught you get lifted.

TBH , not really very clever and at least should merit a suspension or fine from the club.

football grounds are still not great places to take kids. The language is bad enough but it was pretty obscene.

Was it not enough for him to score a goal in the Hibs end ??

Mind you , Michael jackson was always hanging on to his tackle on stage so maybe it's something acceptable today.

to me it looked pretty stupid.

The Fyvie simulation shows Hibs fans are will to be objective when our players do something that is morally wrong and brings the club into disrepute. I don't necessarily think the Police should be involved but I do think what he did needs further examination by the authorities. This was a bit more than a simple goading of opposition fans

I'll be honest and say I couldn't give 2 hoots about it (other than to observe that it' was very odd behaviour) but would love him to be suspended for replay as he's a danger man for them.
I don't go to football seeking exemplary behaviour or high moral standards. If so I'd have given up years ago.

Deserves to be suspended by the SFA though if they are interested in promoting the game to families and would love to see him out the replay. Decent player.

Couldn't give a dam about him or his team, they have history in this area and it is easy to see they don't care about cleaning up there act, nice family environment - NOT.

As for banning him, he was dealt with and booked at the time for his celebration so according to my take on the rule, nothing more will or can happen to this deviant.

I suggest to ignore him and move one. we have some exciting times ahead and we should be focusing on our lot, not them. :flag:

I agree the reactions are a tad OTT however Hibs players have been suspended for less.

I'd guess if one person officially complains it will get investigated. But no idea who you complain to or the merits in this I truth.

He can if it was not mentioned in the report. If the reference was just to the usual over celebration in front of the wrong fans it may have missed the gesture completely.

i recall him being subbed at Livingstone after he scored a crackin freekick. He was shaking his head when he came off and kicked the dugout and had a wee tantrum. He reminds me of Templeton (Nicolson) - a flash in the pan player. Second half non existent - they've loaned out their best winger (King) and to be honest Walker is a very good player too, a real talent - Hearts fan I know rate Nicolson in millions !!! Genuinely can't see anyone paying low 6 figures for him. Need to watch the match back but maybe Gunnerson had a better game than I thought (in keeping him quiet)
