Went to see this at the Glasgow Science Centre IMAX today...I enjoyed it enough but has there ever been a film that's so overhyped?!
It had a good story and the action sequences/effects (especially on the IMAX screen) were pretty spectacular but it averaged out with some poor dialogue, predictable plot and a huge overreliance on "nods" to the original trilogy - at times, it almost felt like a parody of itself.
Kudos to Abrams though - he created a film that will introduce a new audience to the series and has set up the next film very well indeed.
