Possibly the least impartial commentator I've ever heard, he was dreadful tonight.

Why should he be impartial ? They're playing Malmo. Apart from neither of them noticing the handball at celtics disallowed goal, thought they have been ok. He was pretty critical in the last 20 mins and had the good grace to admit Malmo were the better team at the end.

Couldn't believe he called the Malmo boy "ridiculous" and accused him of "gamesmanship" after Griffiths kneed him in the baws. He's so up himself he didn't even have the good grace to retract his comments after watching replays.

Also, his "Champions League club, Champions League support..." rant was boak-inducing.

I liked him co-commentating, least he showed some passion rather than the usual dross. Least he cared about his formal team.

Exactly the standard of co commentary these days is brutal,Owen,Townshend,Provan etc Sutton at least shows a bit of passion and knowledge for the Scottish game(yes Celtic in particular)

Yep, that's how I see it! Suppose everyone is different but I'd like to hear a co-commentator sounding like someone that actually cares and not there to over analyse every little detail.

Sorry, when i watch a game on the telly box I want to hear from someone who knows what they're talking about, can be funny, has a knowledge of BOTH teams, and isn't embarrassingly one sided. Caught some of the game on the ( cough cough) internet and commentator was Guy Mowbray with Clark Carlisle as analyst. His coverage was night and day from what you are all saying Sutton's was like. Was critical of Celtc's zonal marking at corners -allowing players to run unhindered onto balls ( and I would agree ) and was very fair in his assessment of Celtc - great winning league year after year but this is the benchmark and they failed against a team of probably less size.

Was all round much more balanced it seems.

His constant use of the word "idiot" when talking about the match officials must be a first in co commentating. He really was abysmal.
