If Arbroath win, the Yams will say they aren't bothered because it's the "wee cup" and they are concentrating on winning the Premiership this season.

Unlikely they'll end up getting beat, but even if they do we'll just get the usual "diddy cup" guff, and how it'll let them concentrate on working to secure second in the league this season as a staging post to winning it next.

Has anyone heard the advert on Forth 1 for Sat football coverage...they actually quote the Yams as title contenders pmsl ..something like "can Robbie deny Ronnie another SPL title" . I nearly crashed ma car laughing today

Its like the commentators in the bookies trying to make a race exciting when the FAV is 8 lengths clear with half a furlong to go.

I'm sure Grant Stott would have something to say about that

Mon the Lichties. Been to see Arbroath a couple times when they were the local team and would be delighted to see them knock Hearts out the cup.

The big team don't demean themselves with the League Cup.

Does it not brighten up your day a wee bit when the Yams get beat? (I know it's unlikely now).

Big teams win big games. No matter how small they are. Wee cups become big cups when big teams enter them.

BBC has the attendance as 6240, that can't be right surely?

Dangerously near 6207 though if correct.

It will be interesting to see what sort of crowd Hibs get at ER on Saturday.

AS has publicly asked the Hibs supporters to turn up in larger numbers and get behind the team. Lets start on Saturday. As many as possible.

They don't turn out when they have to share the gate money.

"The Edinburgh side's attacks in the opening half tended to lack penetration, although Sam Nicholson would have scored if he'd made cleaner contact after being played through by Alim Ozturk. Instead, his bundled **** bounced wide."

That's fantastic. And it still hasn't been corrected!
