Looking forward forward to see how he fits in.

Surprised he didn't go the MLS.

Let's hope we can add another couple more before season starts.

If Saturday might be too soon for him ? Does that mean he has signed ?

It is a very positive sign and speaks volumes for the reputation Stubbs has clearly gained as an up and coming coach "doing the right things". McGinn was attracting interest from SPFL teams and teams down south.
As fans I think we need to ignore the sensationalism journalism that is forced down our throats every day by lazy reporters who are measured by the column inches they supply rather than the quality of the content. We will never get rid of the Old Firm bias in our national press or media but we can focus on what Hibs are trying to do and support it in the most positive way by turning up and cheering them on!

Friend of mine used to play with him at St.Mirren where Mcginn had the very interesting nickname Meatbawheid.. Says he is a technically excellent football player that has managed to keep progressing year on year.

Great capture and he's been the best midfielder from St'mirren In years! Credit to Stubbs and the club for this move.

McGinn, although he had other offers from England and the Spl, he has chosen us, this says a lot about where Hibernian are going. We have had imho really good signings so far this season, i honestly think we will be a good entertaining solid team this campaign. LD and AS have been the best thing to happen to us in the last ten years 👍🏻

Under Stubbs it's quality and not quantity. Pleased with signing if it materialises.

Well done the Hibees.

Have spoken to good friends of mine who are St season ticket holders .view is he is a talent but last year he lost his way a bit ,probably because of the position St Mirren found themselves in and lack of quality players they had to support him Ian Murray would love to have kept him so he won't be best pleased we have signed him as Dundee United were believed to be one of the Clubs interested in signing him Finding his right position was another issue but Stubbs must have factored in Allan And Fyfie and Bartley and feel he knows where he can get best out of him .He will be looking for first team football that's for sure ,Confident individual but not prolific scorer but that could come under Stubbs and backroom coaching .

30-07-2015, 05:08 PM
Very much a Sellic fan is Mr McGinn, like the rest of his family.
St Mirren pal of mine is adamant a fee has not been agreed but surely Hibs would not make a blunder like that. Taking it to a tribunal could backfire horribly...
He's a busy wee player who gets stuck in but the penalty area is nosebleed territory for him.
Only been training on his own, so probably a bit away from match fitness.

Sounds like everything has been agreed and signed but we tend to wait until everything is confirmed before announcing it officially so might have to wait until tomorrow to register the signing with the SFA before it becomes 100% official.

Saw the figure of £100k quoted. Don't know if that's accurate or not though.

Interesting signing!

Wonder how long his contract is for.

Given that we have paid money out to get him and he is only 20 i would expect a 3 or 4 year deal.

Imagine McGinn might drop his lawsuit against the club which would save some cash/reduce the need for a transfer fee.

I would guess at a left back and McGeouch. Possibly an Everton loan nearer the end of the window also, who knows.

I will take a guess that the development fee will be around 60k.
