Probably at the point when he discovered that the figure he was shown was the 2014/15 budget and not his salary.

Oh my. An assistant manager has turned down the potential opportunity to manage the greatest club in the world.

How truly embarrassing for them.

Very dissapointing news. With him as manager they likely would have been playing us next season in the Championship (unless we get promoted that is).

I heard it's because he knows Butcher's leaving and wants to fulfil his lifetime ambition to be the Hibs Manager.

Also, with the new American Billionaire owner (http://www.hibs.net/showthread.php?284973-Hibs-for-sale!&highlight=hibs+for+sale%3F), money will be no object.

Yeah, disappointed he hasn't landed the Celtic job - think he would have been disastrous for them, maybe not quite to the extent you mention, but close enough.

Could do a job but will his convction for tax fraud and effectively cheating in a hun like way over payment to players at Boston utd meet the famous Celt on and off the field test they are applying to Griffiths? :-)

Keane's no mug. Who would want that job with all the attendant hassle and also danger?

I'd rather manage Sheffield Wednesday.

Surprised he knocked it back, felt it was an almost too good an opportunity to get some recognition if its somewhat easy, he obviously knows he has to hit the ground running with regards to qualifying for the Champions League but its a job where he could win a lot of trophies in for 2/3 years and then move on, don't think he'll be afforded the same luxuries elsewhere.

I'm not overly fussed as it has no direct impact on us for this Season but with the long term in mind, I don't thino he would have been the right guy for Celtic which could have somehow impacted us if we ever get our acts together.

I think he realised he would have been totally out of his depth, a sensible decision IMO.

Owen Coyle i reckon. Keane's a fud. You would need to be a complete numpty (or TB)not to win the league just now.

Keane walked out on Ireland before, surely he couldn't have done it twice? Many say he wouldn't be good at parkhead but I think if they hired me or TB for that matter either of us could still win the league with them.

I'd have Roy manage Hibs (David Moyes Celtic I heard a whisper) Roy could keep his Ireland job part-time. Everyone's happy!
