At the Malmo game last week me and my mates were joined by a Helsingborgs supporter who decided to come along to the game with us simply because he hated Malmo so much (obsessed!)

The guy told me and my mates about the Malmo right back Miiko Albornoz (squad number 3) who was found guilty of having 'relations' with an under age girl earlier this year. The player admitted to knowing the girls age and was given a suspended sentence.

I was told that Albornoz gets mountains of abuse all around the country for this and I personally do not think he should get an easy time from our support on Thursday. While I believe that the best way to support the team is to back the players in green, I also think that we should do anything we can to throw the opposing teams players off their game if possible. Lets give Miiko Albornoz hell!

At least Hearts had the decency to get Craig Thomson to ****.... Eventually.

On 8 January 2013 it was made official that Albornoz was being charged with statutory rape (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statutory_rape) for having sexual relations with a 14-year old girl on 8 November 2012 in Malmö. Albornoz was detained and arrested for the offence on 17 November 2012, he was released after three days. Albornoz admitted that he was aware of the girl's age at the time of the act.[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miiko_Albornoz#cite_note-7) Media reported that the relationship was mutually consensual and that no violence or force had occurred during the act.[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miiko_Albornoz#cite_note-8) Malmö FF published a press release the same day stating that Albornoz would take a time-out from all activities with the club until further notice.[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miiko_Albornoz#cite_note-9)

Albornoz was found guilty and was given a suspended sentence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspended_sentence) in the trial held on 12 February 2013.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miiko_Albornoz#cite_note-10) As a result of the conviction Malmö FF announced that the mutually agreed time-out would be extended a further two months but that Albornoz would be allowed to train with the squad during this period. They also announced that a new decision regarding the player's situation would be taken at the end of this period.[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miiko_Albornoz#cite_note-11) On 10 April 2013 Malmö FF held a press conference and announced that Albornoz's time-out was now over and that he would be available for squad selection once again for the Allsvenskan match against Östers IF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96sters_IF) on 22 April 2013. Albornoz was unavailable for play in the group stage of the 2012–13 Svenska Cupen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_Svenska_Cupen) which was held in March 2013 as well as the four opening fixtures of the 2013 Allsvenskan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Allsvenskan) season.[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miiko_Albornoz#cite_note-12)

MALMÖ / STOCKHOLM. Today at 09.00 the trial began of Miiko Albornoz, 22, in Malmö District Court.
MFF-star is accused of sexual exploitation of children after admitting that he had sex with a 14 year old girl.
The trial lasted over three hours and was initially facing camera - but opened to the public after about an hour.
The verdict: district court judge MFF player to probation for sexual exploitation of children.

The District Court's judgment came today shortly after 1100: MFF player sentenced to probation for sexual exploitation of children.
"It is clear that this was a planned and mutually desired sexual intercourse," the law.
The problem, according to the law, was that the girl at the time was 14.5 years.
The judge also wanted to condemn Albornoz to community service, but got the lay up against.

LR may have been a secret humanist and won't necessarily be looking down, but I agree with your sentiment. That sort of stuff's appropriate for the Wongadome at more or less any time, but not ER on a European night.

Agreed! Lawrie was Hibs daft! If giving one of their players a bit of hassle for being a beast gives us even the slightest advantage then it would be irresponsible of us not to!

Remember players like Paul Hartley, Neil Lennon and Barry Ferguson having absolute *****mares against us at Easter Road thanks to the fans not giving them a minutes peace!

I tend not to join in such things, but can't really condemn anybody who chooses to mock this sleazy deprivate or his club, who seem to have adopted a lax, Jamboesque attitude to the creep's odious antics. If Harris is trying to go past him, I see no reason not to let fly with a torrent of abuse.

However, I would hope that persecuting this paedo would be an entertaining sideshow, rather than the main event, which should of course, be about getting behind our own players.

If somebody has sex with a girl under the age of 16 in a country where it's legally acceptable to do so, would they still be considered a predatory beast?

Not justifying the mans actions at all, but simply putting the point out there.

Anyway, I don't think singing about this kind of stuff in football grounds puts us in a good light either.

Would rather we sang about Hibs and the legendary Lawrie Reilly for 90 minutes.

The Swedish Helsingborgs supporter who told me about this seemed to catch on to most of our English worded Hibs songs without much problem so I don't see the language barrier being an issue.

In any case, whether he can hear the actual words or not, it won't be hard for him to figure out that he will be the one getting the pelters :fenlon

Read further up mate, what Miiko Albornoz did is not legally acceptable in Sweden, hence why he was found to be guilty!

I never said what he did was legal, which is why i'm not justifying his actions. He knew he was breaking the law in his own country, which makes him more foolish than anything else.

But there are countries where these things are legal. So would it be correct to label everybody from those countries as beasts and pedophiles, just because their laws are different than our own?

It just seems odd to label people based on a countries individual laws. I mean.... which countries laws are really right or wrong?

I suppose the country you commit the crime in will be the correct law.

Pretty sure he new what he was doing and it was against the law, he got caught, Guilty in Sweden.

Guy is now a sex offender.

the guys a beast.

He didn't "rape" her. He had sex with her with her own consent. Although by his countries own laws, she wasn't legally old enough to give him consent in the first place This is what's known as "statutory rape". It's not the same thing as forced rape.

In any case, as i've said already, i'm not defending the mans actions. What he did was wrong by law in his own country. I was simply making the point that the age of consent varies from country to country. Although in this case, what he did was obviously illegal by his countries own laws.

But back to my main point, I don't think shouting "beast beast beast" for 90 minutes at ER is going to spur our own players on to perform better.

Correct. But he didn't break the law in our own country, therefore he isn't a sex offender by law in the UK, only in Sweden under their laws.

But if he had sex with a 14 year old girl in a country where it is legal, would we still be right to refer to him as a "beast", just because our own law system varies?
