Not a good toss for Cook to lose. India have almost batted an English win out of the game. Sehwag just looks in cruise control

Unless they get a few wickets between now and the close they could be looking at shipping upwards of 350 on day one.

Sehwag is immense when he gets going. Only chris gayle can match him in terms of being destructive

250-3 now, with Sehwag and Tendulkar both out this afternoon, slogging.

320 odd for 4 at the close, dropped catches have made England suffer.

Chasing 500+, England lose 3 wickets near the end of the day with Compton, Anderson and Trott gone.

India are always like this. Unbeatable at home almost and crap away

Poor team selection, an inability to play against quality spin bowling and they've crumbled under pressure. India have played well, but England have learnt nothing from the series against Pakistan at the start of the year.

They're similar to the SFA in that respect...

They never seem to learn from the sub continent tours. They will win tests at home and all will be well with the world again.

KP out again to left arm spin.

Certainly ain't the worlds best. Never mind the subcontinent, they got hammered by South Africa at home

Almost feel sorry for Cook though. Great effort

Apart from Cook, Prior and Swann no-one is performing so I can't see them getting back into this series.

I think they were beaten before the game started as shown by the decision to not to play Panesar so they could shore up the batting. Exactly the same decision they took at the start of the series against Pakistan and exactly the same result.

Absolutely pathetic - they got what they deserved.

They don't seem to have learnt their lessons from previous disasters in the sub-continent

Much better effort in this test by England.
India 92-6 in their 2nd innings gives them a 6 run lead. Monty currently on 9 wkts for the match.

Monty takes his 10th wkt of the match - 110-7.
First time an English spinner has taken 10 wkts in a match on the sub continent for almost 80 years.

England going along nicely towards the end of the 3rd days play.
457-6 in response to Indias 316 after the hosts won the toss.
A very odd first test match run out for Cook on 190.

Should he have been called back by the Indians?

The commentators seem to think he wouldve been fine if he had grounded his bat then left his ground to avoid injury.

Just one of those things. If he'd grounded his bat he'd have been in, but the ball might have hit him on the hand or forearm (ouch!) which was what he was probably thinking about when he lifted his arm.

He was out of his ground. The ball hit the wicket. It was a speculative throw, but a fair one. Cook did the right thing and walked.

Nothing to see here, IMO.

Remarkable turnaround from the First Test - real team effort.

193 ahead, with 2 full days to go. England could still lose this, but only if India bat outstandingly well, and then England fall apart in the fourth innings.

Worst case I can see is a draw.

England bossing it now. Tore them apart in sessions 2 & 3 of Day 4.

Indian cricket over last few years has been very fragile. I used to bet only on cricket and made a tidy profit. India was one of the teams where the stats didn't lie. As soon as they are up against it they usually crumble.

Pleased for Cook. To lose last two tosses and still win both matches, possibly in 4 days, does go against the stats.

At the end of day 2 I think its impossible for India to win the final test, England batted first and scored 330, India are currently 87-4 following another fine bowling display by Jimmy Anderson.

India 227-4 at tea, good recovery, but, still think a victory is beyond them.
