Anyone travelling on the trains that depart before 10:00AM should be aware that alcohol is not permitted to be carried onto Scotrail trains.

However the Scotrail wording is slightly ambiguous and states that alcohol that is being carried in a bag, and is not obvious, is allowed.

So to avoid any bother, if you are taking alcohol (and I am not advising you to) it should be in a bag, not obvious and not opened/drunk till after 10:00AM.

Don't shoot the messenger!!!!

I thought a by- law had been introduced no drinking between 2100--1000. So the train is dry.

Thats why I mentioned Scotrails guidance is ambiguous, their guidlines to staff say its ok to carry it onto the train if its in a bag, you are still not allowed to drink before 10:00AM.
