I never realised the place had ever opened. Still only one more Lithuanian outpost to liquidate and Vlad can go in peace.

the only thing mad vlad had bought was the place at st andrews square but has done nothing with it and has lost a lot of money on it as well if reports are anything to go by

cheers bud

such a busy bustling branch they are closing it, i would have thought the 400,000 + "believers" would have backed the mad man and opened accounts up there :greengrin

I'm very surprised at this news. With a client base of over 420,000 you would think that the Yukio Bankas would have been able to ride out the current problems.

I don't think they ever got a licence to operate here?

It was the unwillingness of established British banks to act as a clearing house which prevented them opening.

Vlad only bought them to establish them in the uk.

Shares seem to be bouncing aroiund at about 0.55 Litas or about 12 pence a share, and the Bank makes no signs of ever making a profit. Vlad and his " associates " have had to put in several tranches of fresh share capital to keep the Bank afloat.

Hope Vlad was up to date with his rent and rates on the Castle Street branch lease ( 60,000 pounds per annum rent if I recall correctly )

As I understand it Vlad will have no problem getting a hold of cash to tide his bank over until times get better. I'm sure Wonga will front him the money at 1000,000,000 % until payday.
