Young jockey Campbell Gillies dies on holiday. His mum was my teacher for years at school and she always spoke of Campbell so proudly, one of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet.

Had a real future ahead of him. Would have been 22 tomorrow. Devestating news

Saw that earlier on today. Absolutely tragic and obviously a highly talented young guy who from the comments about him was universally liked. RIP.

Absolutely. Crying shame.

Bumped into Mrs Gillies a few weeks ago at Musselburgh Races after about a year of not seeing her, and all she talked about was Campbell and how well he was doing. No wonder, for such a young jockey he achieved so much. I have absolutely no doubt he would have carried on achieving things too. Would have went to the very top.

Bad things truely do happen to good people.
