Has handed in a letter of resignation but has been refused

Could this not be viewed as tapping up by Villa?

Not really, he asked the Norwich board permission to speak with Villa but they refused, he then hands in resignation, can't see how they can refuse his letter of resignation, nowt they can do about someone not wanting to be there.

Surely he is under contract and cant leave due to this. If you could just hand in your resignation, then no transfer fees would ever be paid.

Didn't he brazenly tell the media and anyone who was asking a few days ago that he had no intention of leaving Norwich and that rumours of his doing so were just silly rumours being posted on mindless football forums - so what happened?

It would be excellent news if he was no longer working in Scottish football but I cant see it. He would get massively found out as the manager of a team that doesnt have significantly more resources to throw around than every other team in the league.

Lambert will of first chance of a better job. He has resigned from Livingston, Wycombe and now Norwich. He has no morals.. players will not believe in him and sign longterm deals.
