But sadly not on the pitch.

We, the supporters, deserve a lot better...

Hopefully, the day will come when the team on the park once again represents us and one that we can be proud of.

That is not going to happen unless the board stop running Hibernian Football Club as a business and start seeing the football side. For years its all just been about making profit and keeping financially stable which is great and thats why we are not in the awful state that Rangers and to a lesser extend hearts are in. But we absolutely need to invest a lot into the team this summer otherwise this club is going absolutely nowhere. For years we have sold our best players (Brown, Thompson, Whittaker, Murphy to name just a few) and replaced them with absolute garbage and we are suffering badly for it. We don't make the best use of the funds we have available. We have the best resources in Scotland (out with the old firm) and have one of the highest wage bills yet teams like St. Johnston and Motherwell etc are waaaaay ahead of us. Why? because they are scouting better players and making much more of the limited funds they have!

Change is needed, starting NOW!

The board has made all the off field investments IMO. I think they were right to do what they did. But now they have nothing to distract them from investing in players. Can / will they rise to the challenge?

Way back when the Hibs board made the financially motivated decisions, I was behind them. But I also said that had to be followed by investment in the team.

It will be very interesting to see what happens over the next few months.

It's not just lack of investment in the team though.

The board could spend millions next season in changing the whole squad around. But if the overall mentality at the club doesn't change, then it isn't going to make any difference who we bring in.

Players with a decent reputation elsewhere come to hibs, they develop a bad reputation while they're here, then when they leave, they get a good reputation again for the next club they're playing for.

The problems run deeper than the calibre of players we sign.

Thats contradictory...first you say that the board need to invest more...then point out others do better with less
