Does anybody know the latest on this guy? It's kinda taken a backseat with all the nonsense with Calderwood...

Last I knew he had been for a disciplinary meeting.

Rod has sent him to Hamburg to become David Haye's sparing partner and prepare him for his fight with Vitali Klitchko. He will show him how to break someones jaw in 1 punch, so won't be suprised if Klitchko breaks his jaw in the first round.

Watch it! Gatheussi was a very handy option if you wanted a full back who'd attack! He had a bad couple of games where he gave away a couple of penalties, but that aside he was a useful player.

He was the main one that I took issue with being mentioned. Somehow, he has gone down in many people's book as being in the "donkey" category. From what I can recollect, he was a very good player, would love to have a youthful Zambernardi back now. In one game did he not come very close to lobbing the keeper from halfway?

I do think that is very harsh. Whilst I do not think he is the best others on here actually referred to him as the next Scott Brown....I wonder what there current view is?!

The guy needs a chance and now that he has taken down one of his fellow midfielders he is more likely to get it....Stevenson and Galbraith had probably best watch out they are likely to be next.

However bad some of the players mentioned here were for us ( and some names are ridiculous - Hartley was obviously a good player for example ) the signing of Scott on a 3 - year contract was a strange one given his disciplinary record and general lack of quality ( he`s obviously not good enough technically to be a regular in a top 6 SPL team for more than a few weeks ) . Of course there was a possibility of relegation when CC took over and many fans thought our midfield was underweight but surely noone thinks we are going to improve ( results , entertainment , for accountants gate receipts ) if players like Scott are first team regulars ?

Hugely disrespectful to Hogg to suggest that he's anywhere close to one of the worst players to play for Hibs in the last 20 years IMO. Yes his Hibs career had an undistinguished end and a lot of his latter performances were worthy of crtiticsm, but he was our Player of the Year one season and played in the League Cup winning team also. As recently as the first half of the 2009-10 season he was part of the defence that had the 4th best record in Britain.

I'm glad he's no longer with us but he did far more good than harm in his time here.

Surely surpassed by Orman's derby double - unfortunately past his own keeper rather than the Hearts goalie which gave them a 2-0 victory :bitchy:

Can't remember if Orman played in the 4-4 game actually but my lasting memory is Zambernardi kicking off at 4-3 and trying to play football - I know from a second hand discussion with the match referee that if he had punted the ball into the stand that would have been full time.

Yep, Zambernardi just leathered the ball down field and McKenna headed it up the park and the rest is history.

Still wouldn't put Zambernardi close to being one of the worst players, mind. FWIW, I believe that he was immense at LB for the 1-0 victory at ER with 10 men the following season, though I actually missed that game through being on holiday.
