They were over by a consortium - CP2010 I think - just before the winding up order deadline. Burley is their manager now.

Or did I dream all that?

even if they did want him, a club nearly in administration v the tache we know who would win that battle!

Nothing to back this up but can see this one going through. When have we ever not sold a major player during the summer though, I'd brace yourselves for this one.

With Burley at CP and new owners it also makes a little more sense.

I expect we'll sell DR this window too Paul.

Just making the noises here IMO, wants strikers and shuffling the pack to make it happen. (if he wants a striker there is a 20 goal a season one at the club, loves the club and would stay for the rest of his career though)

Losing Riordan would be a nightmare. If Stokes leaves too, then I can't see us scoring many goals this season at all.

We'd still have Nish though

Steve, I've heard this every season since we sold Durie and probably years before that. The club evolves every year and I bet you were saying the same when we sold Miller, Fletcher, Killen, O'Connor & Riordan in the last 10..yet there we were with Stokes coming out of no-where and getting 20 plus goals last season.

20 plus goal a season strikers don't come around every year, so we would have to be very lucky to pick up another Stokes. We have two that are capable of scoring 20 goals a season. I think the chances of us replacing both of them are very slim.

Deeks is a LM though :cool2:

Sadly, no signs of any offer to DR to extend his stay ..

I don't. In fact I'd be surprised if we start the season and both Deek and Stokes are not in the team.

Of course a great wad of money could change that:wink:

Id be staggered if we sell Riordan this window.

Don't you think you're jumping the gun with the razorblades routine???

Deeks has about a year left on his current deal - ergo no other club can speak to him without Hibs' permission for about 6 months yet - if a contract is to be offered (which I hope will be the case) I wouldn't expect any movement for a wee while yet.

Murray only signed his extension in Dec/Jan. It's not an unusual situation at Hibs - especially for players whose resell value is pretty low (i.e. it wouldn't happen with Wotherspoon, Stokes or Hanlon).

Folk either trust Rodders and Hughes or they don't.

:agree: the paranoia has started early this season.

Riordan should be given a new contract.

Can't see Palace being able to afford him due to their financial position. If they can afford him it proves cheats can prosper in the game after settling their debts last month by paying creditors 1.9p in the £.

Burley would have a ****in cheek, 20 goals couldnae get him in to a scotland team, did he not come out and publicly criticise how hard he works during matches?

Murray signed his deal after Hibs significantly improved it .. which happened after Barr rejected us for the Yams.

Both these issues were significant factors
