As I watched another display of mindless chants from one half of the bigot brothers condoned/ignored by the police and stewards today I reflect on the futility of reports analysing the ills of Scottish football.
Now I do not claim that the Hibs support are lilywhite - we have historically produced some of the most lethal of casuals and the Wallace Mercer song is hardly a model of subtelty.
Personally I yield to nobody in my ability to view the ref's performance through seriously green tinted glasses.
However something has to be very wrong when so much power and influence is wielded by two organisations who rely on a substantial number of social inadequates who choose football as a vehicle to express their imagined superiority/persecution complexes.
Yes it is society's problem but why should football be made to suffer?
Given that the authorities do no more than lip service to rectifying the situation I do not see any likelihood of a change.
All the facilities and investment in the world will not change this.
