View Full Version : November - will Hibs collapse ?

November is traditionally a horrible month for the Hibs. The colder days, slower, heavier pitches usually start to favour the "battling" industrialists from across the city.

Anyone think this one will be different ?

Hearts 1 pt
st Miren 3 pts
falkirk 3 pts

So 7 points is not to bad a return, so no.

I'm sure Yogi wont let things slip. I'm also sure he will be the right man to utilise the training ground to best effect, something we have not done in the past.
As the person who continually says Hibernian comes from the word Hibernate I'm quite hopeful this season that wont be the case.

These are tough games coming up:

Hearts - form goes out the window as last Wednesday showed.
St Mirren - I believe have been pretty decent apart from Saturday (had them on my coupon).
Falkirk - There will be an extra edge to Falkirk given that Yogi joined us from them.

I'd be happy with 6 points providing we get all 3 from Hearts, delighted with with 7 or 9.

Every game we look at now we're going to be looking at taking 3 points but there will be some slip ups to come IMO.

Aye, there will be more rain.

But we've been playing on a watered up pitch at ER every game this season.

I think one of the reason we've been watering the pitch just before games is to get get players used to playing on the wet surface.... and we've been doing extremely well so far this season.

There is something different about Hibs.

We've defiantly got an "edge" about us that i've never seen in my life time.

I think we'll ace November.

It's not November or December that worry me :agree:

January and February are the really difficult ones :boo hoo:

I have the TonyM season CD and I can remember us going oan great run in December 2004, Deeks scoring goals for fun  I hope that we can do the same this term...........in fact I know we can :agree:

The last few years have seen a change of managers towards the end of the year and this time I have a feeling that the manager will be staying and he's going to all he can to get us as far up that league as he can :agree: and ditto the players

There's some feel good stuff going on down ER way :top marks

Probably from the same place that the 'Benji doesn't perform during the winter' myth comes from, even though the majority of his goals have come in the colder months :hilarious

Where does this myth come from?

IIRC, it comes from the early days of the Premier League. (ie the one that started in the 70's). We barely won a game in November for the best part of 10 years.

We barely won a game, some of those seasons.

Which IIRC was down to Turnbull dismantling the team, then the arrival of Bertie Auld - the cheap cigar with the tumshie on the wet end.

I always thought that it was January when we tended to have our mid season slump.
