Anybody know when this is drawn?

I seem to recall the 2008 draw getting done round about October/November

Will 2012 be the same time?

Where did you read that?

Sure it said in yesterdays Sun that the draw was to be made in December and if it's in the sun it must be true :agree:

I read it on a site which still says the same.

Best place to look is probably the official UEFA website. Date on there is confirmed as 7 February 2010. Saying that I would rather believe what the Sun says. :greengrin

Should we arrange a trip for all the Scotland fans to go to one of the host countries so we can say were were there when Scotland were, well, on paper anyway. :boo hoo:

Surely we can qualify for the next one!

Something needs to be done about the Euro's. Just too many games and it gets in the way of the domestic programme. It needs to be just a knockout competition so it's quick and exciting. Not the boring laborius schedule it presently has.

Is it definitely still going ahead in Poland and Ukraine? I remember Ukraine being really behind in the planning stages with stadium facilities etc.

However, there will be 24 teams in the finals of 2012 so we actually have a better chance (in theory).

Ukraine have yet to given the green light to act as host, and because of the trouble on Saturday UEFA are said to be having second thought about them hosting it, so why dont Scotland offer to co host it and we will be guaranteed to qualify

Euro 2012 qualifying round seedlings now confirmed - 6 groups of 6 teams and 3 groups of 5 teams. 1st placed teams and the best runner-up qualify automatically. The remaining 8 runners-up will take part in a two-match play-off. Only 14 qualifying places as 2 hosts this time. More scope for UEFA manipulating play off draw FIFA-style I fear.

Would happily take:
6 team group - Croatia Slovakia Scotland Lithuania Iceland San Marino and the same 5 team group without San Marino.

Would avoid: Spain Serbia Scotland Belgium Cyprus and Azerbaijan (if 6 team group)

Tourist group - France Czech Republic Scotland Belgium Estonia Luxembourg - also one to guarantee non-qualifying I suspect though!

For best chance of qualifying:

Croatia
Switzerland
Albania
Leichtenstein
San Marino

For best trips:

Russia
Romania
Albania
Kazahkstan
Azerberjan

Would love a wee double header to Azerberjan and Armenia though and disapointed that Israel are in the same pot. Tel Aviv would be great on a TA trip!

Is it definitely still going ahead in Poland and Ukraine? I remember Ukraine being really behind in the planning stages with stadium facilities etc.

UEFA have told Ukraine that the majority of their planned stadia do not meet requirements and will NOT be used.

I'm not sure whether that means that Poland will now have to come up with more stadia to balance this or whether they may actually send the Euro's elsewhere.
