It's official, there has been a steep decline in Hearts attendances from average of 50,500 to 13,500 in less than a week.

I fear for the once-great Gorgie giants of the European game.

Wait till the floodlights are fixed. I'm sure there must be 37,000 odd sneaking in under the cover of darkness.

Yes but it is obviously inaccurate. They've left out all the champions league games :greengrin

Its safer that way for the general public...children...animals...etc...etc

Nothing much to laugh about with our attendance on sat around 10500 or so. Not good especially Miler's first game at Easter rd

Nearly 11000 after a spanking from Hamilton. Was that really unexpected? Every Scottish club will suffer from lower attendances this year, we are in a position to ride out the storm. Hearts ain't. I am going to continue chuckling to myself at their plight.

Think DS is bringing to our attention the fact that Hearts recorded the crowd as being 53,000 in their match report last week and have now chopped 40,000 off that figure.

Are you saying there weren't really 53,000 at the game?

Holiday Weekend. I go to home games as a group of four. Two did'nt go on Saturday as they were away for the weekend. Easy to see a couple of thousand being absent - Hopefully they'll all be back Tuesday.

I seriously doubt it.

Absolutely.Take away a decent away support and that puts us below 10,000 home supporters. Shows that any recovery in attendances is fragile if a downer at Hamilton results in a low showing like this.

Sure it was because the tax man was taking note of these rather large gates and decided to see for himself. Apparently it's what big teams do when the tax man comes a-calling.

Oh there were definitely 53,000 fans at the game maybe even a couple of hundred on top of that. Yams trimmed the figure to 13,000 to avoid paying tax/policing bills or whatever on the other 40,000.

Oh hold on a minute the Yams don't pay tax or bills.

Back to the drawing board then.

I was thinking the same thing myself. OK, the OP was actually making a joke about the mistake on the Fishul Hawrts page but there seems to be a bit of nose rubbing over a team doing badly but still getting 3,000 more at home than us.

So much for the argument that the fans need some exciting singings and they'll come back.

Miller and Stokes are about as good as we're ever going to get and yet there's been no effect on our attendances.

As 1 of the 3,200 that travelled to Hamilton I reckon we'd have needed to sign someone really special to have made most of them go again on Saturday, if they didn't already have an ST.

That's whats embarrasing about it they're close to the bottom and get 3000 more than us at home.

there is nothing embarrasing about it.
remember they finished last season on a relative high (3rd place and europe) so many more would have bought ST
I think they expected a bit investment from the mad on:boo hoo:
I doubt very much they will have a bigger turnout than us for much longer:greengrin
