SKYE TRAVEL HAVE SOLD OUT all their slots on the official Hibernian travel package for next weeks UEFA Cup tie in Athens - and very few tickets remain for independent travelers wishing to take in Hibs first journey into Europe since the Anderlecht tie in 1992.

The official travel agents are 'delighted' at the response from Hibs fans for their one-night deal, with two flights heading for the Greek capital a week on Wednesday - one a Jumbo Jet carrying almost 500 Hibs fans.  Many more fans have decided on independent travel, with a large number taking in a weeks holiday on various Greek islands with the intention of traveling on to Athens for the game itself.  The Easter Road ticket office was a busy place yesterday as hundreds of fans snapped up the remaining tickets available to fans taking such routes, with only around 100 tickets remaining this morning in the allocation of 1,500 given to the club by AEK.

De La Cruz - returns on Friday (hibs.net)

Hibs boss Alex McLeish meanwhile is confident that Ecuador international Ulises de la Cruz will be able to start in his side to face Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday.  De La Cruz will feature for his country in a World-Cup qualifying match on Wednesday and is due to return to Edinburgh on Friday, just 24 hours before taking the field against the Lanarkshire side.  "Ulises faces a long haul but we spoke to him before going away about aiding his recovery by drinking plenty of water on the flight and trying to get some rest. We'll see him on Friday afternoon and assess him then," McLeish said last night.  De La Cruz was confined to the bench the last time he returned from international duty, in the 2-2 draw at Ibrox, but the player is expected to be on from the start barring any knocks.

McLeish had his squad, bar those on international duty, back at Easter Road yesterday following a short break, saying: "We'll be working all week. The players have had a wee break but we now have quite an intense period coming up with SPL and UEFA Cup matches, which will be a test of the squad."  While the minds of most Hibs fans are on the European match next week, McLeish has his squad firmly focused on a game he sees as a 'must win' at Fir Park, as Hibs seek to move back up the league table.

A new Hibs video has been released for sale today - a must for all Hibees, in particular with one eye on Europe!  "Hibernian F.C. - European Nights" has been produced in association with Hibs.net and can be purchased on-line from today via www.hibsvideo.com.
